So now Joe is comapred to Gary Lockett. I really have heard it all.

NEWSFLAsH: Gary lost to Pavlik because he was outclassed, Joe is more than a few steps above Lockett on the "class ladder" and would not be an easy win for Pavlik, not at all.

All enzo has seen is Pavlik's power, which is nothing new.

Joe could easily take Pavlik's best punch on the chin and still throw back, has Pavlik proved he could do the same? Not yet he hasn't.

Anyone who truly believes what the thread starter is trying to imply (Pavlik KO's Calzaghe easily) either doesn't know boxing or is in serious need of institutionalised help.

Stop sweating all over joes nuts, Pavlik has proved he can take a punch and still come back he was knocked down in round 1 vs Taylor still came back to win it.

My opinion of Pavlik has nothing to do with tonights win, I knew this guy didn't have a prayer, but he was the so called "manditory" if I remember correctly. Folks, Pavlik is an absolute Heavy Handed BEAST - the kind that intends to hurt you with every punch he throws.

So for the sake of arguement, I would just love to hear what Calzaghe brings to the ring that is better than what Taylor has to offer. (it's not much if anything) I don't care how many pitty pat punches he throws per round so don't go there.

Face it folks, Calzaghe has faced what - 3 or 4 (at most) real challengers in all those wins. Even an old Hopkins actualy stayed in control of the fight, and there was nothing Joe could do about it.

Again, Calzaghe hasn't had a KO win in YEARS -- NO WAY he wins against Pavlik -- he won't even fight him, Enzo has done a good job keeping Joe "safe" throughout his career -- he won't stop doing that now.

too much risk not enough reward.

if i was joe i'd fight tarver and jones then retire. very winnable , much bigger money and less risk.

joe can outwork tarver and roy. kelly is young.

plus when you read the boxing hof book. you see eubank , hopkins , tarver , jones. not bad eh? people can say roy and hop and tarv are old but joe is no spring chicken either. it can lend proof to the argument that if they fought in their primes joe could've/would've beat them as well.

i'm one of those that don't rate the bernard win highly because bernard is old BUT a win over hopkins is still a WIN OVER HOPKINS! same thing for jones. kelly is much more dangerous now and we don't know yet how history will look at him. imagine if joe losses to kelly and kelly then loses to a bunch of mediocre fighters afterwards.

i'm just speaking from a pure legacy standpoint for joe of course. obviously as a boxing fan i want to see a pavlik-cal fight.

Hopkins caught him, and then pushed him down. So what?, he then ran for rest of the SAME round.

There are different classes of fighters. If you think Pavlik is a guy who is going to reign for a long time you are clutching at straws.

Joe looks **** against people who don't fight (Hopkins). Pavlik only has one gear. It would be a great fight

I like Pavlik but I can't see him beating Joe at all. Roy Jones old as **** or not is a bigger test imo.
