For example some people look at a Mexican fighter and say that he is ****** and uses his face to block punches. Others look at the same fighter and say that he is brave because he is willing to trade punches and give the fans excitment. So if you talk of a 'Mexican style' it depends upon what else you were saying in the same discussion.
Whether or not people get offended by a term is often based upon how you use it.
When trainers insult a fighter saying he is a European style boxer and they say no head movement, no feints and stiff...
Do the Brits take Offense to that?
Well, no, we brits ourselves usually associate that style with OTHER European countries, like Germany, Denmark etc etc.
I don't think most of our best fighters fight in that style at all. None of Hatton, Calzaghe, Eubank, Hamed, Benn, Froch, Haye and many more besides fight like that at all.

I've never heard that expression of a Mexican fighter being ******.
