Brassangel, how is this a good way to hype a fight? Maybe you didn't notice, but Floyd's last fight vs. Oscar broke all jr. middleweight PPV records!
This fight occured AFTER Floyd had "RETIRED" and said he's never fight again.

Boxing fans are already weeping here.

All it takes is a few more months.
Floyd will then say, " Ah, ****, I'm comin' back to whup Oscar's ass!!!"

    Guess who'll buy the PPV?

    YOU WILL.

    Floyd is a smart businessman.
    He's rich for a reason.

lol he wont be the GOAT ever in the face of boxing. Nobody will ever think he was a great one or the greatest of all time.

he retired because everyone was pushing a cotto fight and his 0 would turn into a 1.

He wouldve lost his P4P self proclaimed status and he would be done for

I love all the boards that quoted Roger Mayweather saying he wants to fight Cotto.

Simple as that anyone else claiming other reason is pretty delusional. Cotto started stealing the limelight and hes the hottest thing in the WW division right now. Mayweather is forced to fight him after margo or he loses all credability. Its not just Cotto either its Paul Williams Quintana an up and coming Berto and SO MANY more. He knew he couldnt breeze through fights anymore so he fooled people for a lil bit, people caught on and now he retires.

So he cashed out and went home with some credibility.

mayweather is THE GREATEST DUCKER OF ALL TIME in boxing history now.

I wouldve given him props if he gave the fans what they wanted once!!

All he had to do was take on
          Cotto
          Mosley
          Margo
          Paul Williams
          Quintana

anyone of those fighters or a RANKED WELTERWEIGHT and i wouldve gave him his dues.

Yes Floyd could have matched more frequently and against Cotto, but its not like Hatton and ODLH first time round were **** defences. They were fine, and after them we all wanted him to fight Cotto, but he didn't, he retired (though I'm sure he'll be back) Every elite boxer picks and chooses and we all know it.

How can boxing possibly gain from losing him?

He's a big boy and he's made his choice.
                  Another safe move.
I already missed the Floyd of lighter weights. That guy took challenges.
                  I wish him well though.
He has money and he has health.
Those were always his biggest priorities.
We should all be so smart.

Technically it is, he wasn't even fightin anyone that he should be fightin. He may have brought a few fans to the sport, but 85% of the time he wasn't fighting anyone. Now with him out of the way, alot of fans are gonna have to see the other talents in the sport.

Maybe they see some new **** and fall even MORE IN LOVE with the sport. Cause lets be honest, an average guy see's a Floyd fight, lol theres a real chance he may fall asleep. You watch some of these ****ers and you're zoned in to Boxing. And with the big names like Oscar havin to pick between Cotto and Marg, Oscar is gonna grant them with more viewers the same way he granted Mayweather with more viewers.

So I mean, technically...with Floyd gone, Boxing has litterally improved it's chances of growth lmao.

I'm not tryin to take a late and cheap shot at Floyd after his retirement, but he wasn't fightin anyone. He was bringing a false sense of drama to the sport, but Boxing isn't a soap opera. Meanwhile..there's real guys out here willin to **** for their buck. If Floyd wanted fame so much for bein "Da greatest, BOXER, EVERRRRRR" he should have moved up earlier in his career when the Oscar's and Shane's were at the top of their game. But I think we all know why he didn't move up back then.

Anyways, with Floyd and all his games out of the way, alot of boxing may get a tad bit more exposusre.

floyd ain't coming back... coming out of retirement for floyd/dlh II isn't going to help hype that fight anymore than it already is.
