The fact that you keep implying that I do is beginning to get insulting.
You still havent answered my question. Under what grounds should Pacquiao have been behind Calzaghe??

        joe is welsh?

        thought he was italian?

it has nothing to do with race. his resume is questioned not his race.

If there are grounds for ranking Calzaghe above Pacqiao, and just so you know, I neither know nor care if there are, they are his unbeaten record, ten year reign as champ and the way he has achieved these things, which as Luke has pointed out, has basically involved beating all but two opponents he has faced pretty one-sidedly. I know there are objections to Calzaghe based on strength of resume, but even if we disregard quality of opponent completely, his length of reign, number of defences and of course the fact he is currently Ring Champ a two weights have to count as pretty impressive, since virtually no other boxer in history has matched him. That is a fact.

If you do choose to object to Joe's greatness on grounds of resume, you should realise that fighters like Reid, Woodhall, Mitchell, Brewer and Sheika are consistently listed in Ring Magazine's annual top 10 rankings during Joe's reign and he beat all of them, plus the two prime, ranked champs that were supposed to beat him in Lacy and Kessler. He also beat a great champ, Chris Eubank when he was just 25 years old to take his title. In the case of virtually any other fighter in the world (see fighters like Cotto for a current example) this type of record is enough to get you on the P4P list alone, without being long reigning or undefeated, and Joe Calzaghe has been in this position for years now, along with having achievements virtually no other fighter can match.

So you asked me how he could be ranked above Pacqiao and I told you, but whether he absolutely is or not, I don't know, but I'm sure we can agree that Calzaghe has done things that Pacqiao hasn't done, and the same is true the other way around. Both have a very strong case and the best I hope for in making this post is to make see that. I hope that I have.

Thank you for answering the question in an intelligent manner instead of avoiding it and nutthugging like the other guy.

pacquiao without a doubt. he has given all the viewers their money's worth or even more than its worth. very exciting to watch. he has fought the top guys in his division and now climbing up to challenge bigger guys. all his fights are non stop action except for the one when MAB just went to the ring to get his last biggest pay. also the reason why he is number 1 is because he is the hottest item there is. i haven't heard anyone called out calzaghe they way boxers are callin out pac. as soon as someone unknown challenges pac suddenly they are someone. example is valero no one knew him but as soon as he called pac everyone knows him, same as guzman, even the champion juan diaz called pac and suddenly the lightweight division came into the spotlight. do i need to say more?

                  pacquiao #1 p4p

Looks like Pac won it. Even at other Websites Pac won it by Poll.

Ring Magazine, Yahoo sports and all media has Pac at number 2 and obvious will be the number 1..

He will be the number 1 P4P guy..

                    For Calzaghe?

Where he has been during the the prime of Jones, Hopkins or even Trinidad, Wright and Vargas and Toney when they were at Middleweight.. I forgot, Joe has his Ass paste in Wales.
