Official Breaking Down Sugar Ray Robinson

Im not gonna be the one listing out all the facts because im not exactly an expert on him, but am hoping the posters on here that know more about him as a fighter could fill us in on your views...

Why is Sugar Ray deemed the greatest... was it because of his actual fighting ability... or his record? both?

Could he really beat every fighter ever pound for pound?

im not insinuating a single thing, for anyone who thinks i am, im honestly asking the question... maybe he could.. im not an expert on the guy...

whats your opinion on why hes the concensus best fighter ever...

    Both.

His resume is great and he could do pretty much everything in the ring.

You don't know that much about SRR, but when they made a poll about RJJ VS SRR you knew enough to vote for Roy. Hmmmm......

He would not beat EVERYONE, because of the stylistic matchups favouring other elite fighters, but his record and ability place him at the top IMO.

in a straight up fight Roy would win because Robinson was too small IMO, but in a P4P fight I think Roy would get KO'd. Robinson was fast, not as fast as Roy mind you but fast enough to catch him. P4P Roy would have little advantage stylistically, athletically i'm not sure. Both had great stamina, power, speed, footwork. Roy has the height advantage, Robinson commited to his Jab more. Robinson has a MUCH better defense and ultimately I think Robinson's defense would hold up against Roy and give him oppertunities to set up and offense after Roy's right hand and Knock him out. That chin whilst not as bad as most make out was still average and against a P4P elite your bound to get caught at some point.

Most say that he was the most complete fighter in history. He had very fast hands, could KO you with anyshot, while moving forwards or backwards. He had a very good chin, and had heart to fight tough fights. He could move on his feet well, he could jab well...

He could just do everything, so i say his ability. But also his resume helps him i think.

Roy Jones Junior couldn't shine Sugar Rays boots.
Based on ability , opposition , length of career.
                End of thread.

You voted RJJ over SRR didn't you?
And what is "Official" about this thread?
Is it sponsored by the SRR foundation?
And I am not an ALT.
I just have an opinion that doesn't follow the blinkered views of lots of sheep.
Sugar Ray Robinson had everything in his toolbag.
Heart , Will , Skill , KO power and a chin.
                    He was the "Ultimate Fighter".
And he fought the best of his era without saying Quack quack like Floyd or Roy Jones Junior.
As a boxing fan you really should know everything about SRR.
I suggest you go back to school and learn.
Asking Ree****yaluss questions aint gonna help.
And stop taking things so personal.
