Who is the better BOXER? Mayorga or Hatton.

Well, neither of them are known for their silky boxing skills, but for making the best of what limited skillset they have, and being good at what they do, it's Hatton.

BTW, a lot of Americans won't know this, but Hatton DID have considerable boxing skill as an amatuer and his early days as a pro, but he discovered he could steamroll his opponents through strength and an iron will, and adopted it as his new fighting style. Now though, he is so far gone from his old self, his skills have all but been forgotten.

There are glimpses though, like the perfectly timed and astonishingly accurate jab he nearly floored Mayweather with. Before anyone turns round and says "but PBF was just off balance LOL", ask yourself a few questions: How many jabs does Hatton usually throw? Is it not a coincidence that his most underused punch landed at such a perfect time...

lol what? hatton didn't come close to flooring mayweather at all. when mayweather stumbled from tripping over hatton's foot, he wasn't even hit by a punch. hatton swung and missed and mayweather was leaning back to avoid it and he went off balance. his focus remained on hatton throughout so he wasn't stunned or anything. but when you love a fighter, you really got to nit pick on the good stuff, and I understand there wasn't a whole lot of good stuff that hatton did in that fight if anything.

Neither has boxing technique/ability that just shines through.

I will say that each is a tough guy who can cause serious damage to their opponent.

But i honestly dont think either of them are good BOXERS to say the least.

but they both provide good excitement; especially mayorga...between the trashtalking, cigarette smoking after fights, the showboating in the ring and warriror/tough guy mentality he's great in those subjects.

hatton by a mile. no contest. hatton when not convinced he can bulldoze can back off and pick some shots. i mean he's no willie pep, but definitely better than mayorga. definitely.

Hatton can box he just doesn't like it.... Mayorga just like knocking peoples heads off which he does well
