Not exactly. A fighter needs more than speed to win. You have a picture of Pavlik-Taylor is your avatar, Taylor is the faster fighter but Pavlik won.

Speed doesnt win fights, skill does. Speed can win though if the slower guy cant adjust to it.

Styles make fights. The faster guy don't always win and neither does the harder hitter. It all depends on what fighter is in the ring and against whom. No way to say for fact which attribute is more effective for a boxer.

                  GOD is fair

Imagine if Thomas Hearns had a granite Chin

Imagine if Mike Tyson had a decent EQ ( Emotional Quotient ) and IQ

Imagine if Manny Pacquiao can box like Erik Morales or can counter like JMM

Imagine if the joke about Tye Fields is real

Imagine if Floyd had a one punch KO power

You can be a successful boxer if you only have either speed or power. Its great to have both. Speed over Power for me if i have to choose one.

Then i suppose you're willing to bet me all your points that malignaggi beats hatton since you think speed always wins. It ultimately comes down to heart and ring smarts. Winky Wright was almost always both slower and weaker than his opposition but look at his record.
