Mayweather has become a fantastic orator in the past couple years. He knows how to sell himself and convince people of what he wants them to believe. He will downplay Cotto all he likes, but it doesn't change the fact that Cotto has been his most legitimate challenger for the past couple of years. I mean, who else do you want Cotto to beat? The man has already trashed Judah who Floyd, lets face it, couldn't really dent.. beat a legitimate, proven Welterweight in Shane Mosley.. coming off some big wins at that weight.. he blew out Quintana who beat Paul Williams easily... the mans resume speaks for itself. He's a real fighter, a throwback. He can box and punch, and he's an elite boxer. A genuinely multi-gifted fighter in the prime of his career.

The Oscar rematch is purely about money. Oscar is the biggest cash cow out there. Its the biggest fight to be made in terms of money and mainstream attention. Fighting Oscar is for Floyd to prove his celebrity. Fighting Cotto is to prove his boxing greatness

Glad you included all of his performances...

I mean, why would Corrales, Genaro Hernandez or Castillo in that?

The Corrales fight proved how good he really is, taking on someone with more fights and Diego was 33-0 and was the favorite going into the fight.

No, I actually meant both of them.

Thank you for avoiding the question...

Corrales and Genaro Hernandez... let's hear it! And the second Castillo fight if you are feeling brave.

Cotto is big enough among hardcore fans to fight, but floyd don't care about hardcore fans... he wants mainstreem attention and love and until Mayweather/Cotto becomes one of the biggest sports events like the superbowl or nba finals, we won't see mayweather/cotto.

Yes he beat a primed Corrales, beat Genaro, but didn't beat Castillo in the first one, second fight is a no brainer. you still think brueseles, gatti,& mitchell justify corrales, hernandez, and castillo 2?

I actually think that beating names like Hernandez, Corrales, Chavez, Castillo (twice), De La Hoya and Hatton do allow for a few ****ty fighters now and again.

I have never had a problem with Floyd until all this ****ing rematch talk. It's just ridiculous.
