i expressed myself in the wrong way
i meant to say the passion of a battle when u see the guys with the head gears and running around it makes it look like a competition
boxing is hyped to be more than a competition its hyped to be a battle
imo the decrease of popularity in boxing has a lot to do with that battle feeling being gone
the 90īs heavyweights gave that battle sensation
wrestling gives that battle sensation to kids and teens
and currently the ufc is peaking in its popularity because it gives that battle sensation
its just a natural thing for human beings to want to watch 2 guys put the hurt on each other it comes from the times of the roman colliseum

    • anyway there are new wave of mexican fighters who are coming from the amateurs.

as i said not the style is more of globalized there mexican style is dying out. Because it is not as effective as others styles.

Martin Castillo, Cristan Mijares, Navarro, JMM...etc all have good amateur background and are not pressure type of fighter but more of multi-task type of fighters.

in order to win you should have more than one style

There's passion involved, but there is also a lot of incentive knowing that if you do well in the Olympics, you get a lot more attention from the beginning in the pros. Look at DLH winning a title after less than a year and a half as a pro.

well most amateur are not like DLH, they come to the gym not as a job but as love for the sport.

they fight people for free instead of negotation for the price and location.

          they travel around there world.

when people at the pro they choose there oppennets because a loss could mean a ending his career

            yeah ur right
but in order to make money u have to know how to brawl and entertain the fans
just a example 2 weeks ago mijares and arce fought in the same day on different cards
mijares fought an unification fight for the wbc-wba title against the number 2 guy in the division; the first unification in that divition since 1997
arce fought an unknown thai guy for no title
guess which ppv made the most buys? yep the arce one

that is why boxing is falling apart.

David Daiz is more exicting LW but he doesnt make much. have you seen his fight against Santa Cruz and you know why he is a good exciting fighter.

I would watch Mijares any time of the day against Arce. I like to know how to deaft this person. because for a brawl game is the one with the strongest chin and the biggest punch will win. There are smart brawler like Salvador Sanchez who used his reach to brawl that is how he KOed Gomez.

anyway if you want a long career you should choose when to brawl because this is not the last fight. and everytime you brawl you boxing career is reduced abit

Mexican boxers will always have that brawler brave fighting attitude. Even Mijares as great a boxer he is mixes it up. Arce is very exciting to watch.

Sanchez was a boxer/puncher he could fight on the inside if he had too or wanted too. And no way in hell is boxing falling apart. There is differnt boxing style from all over. And if you want to get techniqual even the past greats of Mexico knew how to box but sure they could brawl and loved too cause they were just better then there opponets.

And no brawling is not just which chin can outlast. Saying that is you telling us you're a newbie and i know you're not.

He brawls but brawls smartly. and knows when to brawl and when to box.

yep mijares really showed that guy from venezuela he pretty much had him koed on his feet at round 9-10
imo arce is showing lots of age, i thought the thai guy defeated him and i was rooting for arce, he doesnt have much left i just hope he fights darchinyan before he retires thats a fight that would be perfect for him
ulises solis is also a guy that shows a lot of talent he reminds me of humberto gonzales great boxing skills and great power only thing that is doubt is his chin
