Of the names listed, I think Frazier had the best left hook. However the poll question was who had the most powerful, and with that criteria I'd say Cooney or maybe Ruddock.

Ricky Hatton is the left hook master.

Highlight of Joe Frazier, IMO his best left hooks at 4:25 against Foster, 4:58 against Ellis and of course the Ali one at 5:30.

Morrison had a very powerful left hook but he rarely went to the body with it and it could be neutralized for example against Lennox Lewis.

I can't deny how awesome this left hook of Morrison's was though... I wonder how Ruddock got up from that!

Mike Tyson always said that his right hand was his better punch although he did devastate opponents with his left hand also.

I would add Liston's left hook...

              and Joe Louis.

For a smaller heavyweight, Patterson's leaping left hook was devastating.
              Great post as usual manchine.

If one looks at the Frazier KO's most of Frazier's opponents brawl with him. Big mistake. Ali did the same thing occasionally with Frazier. It prompted one of the funniest yet very telling advice's I ever heard from Angelo Dundee: "Don't hook with a hooker!"

he may not have become a champion but he did have some very impressive moments in the ring

doesnt change the fact that his left hook was magnificent

just as earnie shavers didnt become a champion and had a few blow outs, doesnt mean that people dont call him on of the hardest punchers ever

True, but I saw him as championship material. I guy that could win the strap and defend it for awhile.
