British boxer Joe Calzaghe has beaten many World Champions and has been a World Champion for well over a decade and will obviously never be beaten.

However, I feel that he is sometimes slightly overrated by his fellow Brits.

At 36 Joe is now well past his best but I would have liked to see him fight Roy Jones Jr. when they were both in their prime. Only if he beat him could he say he was great.

He may well put him down in the same way Hopkins and Mitchell did and the end result of those fights???

I must have missed Ernie Shaver's transformation into a white fighter from Youngstown. Unbelieveable delusion exists on this board on Calzaghe getting KO'd, he may have hit the canvas, but he's never been wobbled properly by bigger men than Pavlik hitting him with killer punches (see the Mitchell fight if you want to form a proper opinion)

Conversley, if Pavlik finds himself wobbled like he was against Taylor, he's finished, cause there is no way Joe is going to run out of gas like Taylor did

          I hate Calzaghe.

Because he slaps. Does he impress me? Yes.

Do I want to watch him? No.

          Overrated? Yes.
          UNderrated? Certainly.

              Agreed 100%

Here's where we disagree. Save for Kessler, Hops, Brewer (who I like WAY more than the completely overrated, media hyped Jeff Lacy), Calzaghe doesn't have a resume that differs from...Sven Ottke.

But it does differ in that Ottke lost at least three and up to five fights through some of the most blatant cheating in boxing by ref and judges. In the Brewer fight there was a twelve round differential between the US and the two home town judges. Ottke was helped from the very top of the German establishment, an East German hero to give the poorer half of the post unified Germany someone to follow. Ottke is the David Hasslehof of Boxing

                Thank you, kind sir.

Being able to look at things from several perspectives is what differs the ******s from the ******s.

Ottke shouldn't be mentioned. Not ever.

The very name uttered should be punishable by death. And torture after death.
                    And ritualistic skull-**** after death.
And then some more bizarre ****.
