This is a misleading poll because the debate is not about whether he was hurt but to the extent that he was hurt. You are suggesting he was on the verge of being stopped which I'm quite sure anyone with a modicum of sense would agree is rubbish.

He was hurt to the point where Lazcano could have done a substantial amount of damage with a few more punches in succession. Ricky was having trouble defending himself against punches in that period where Lazcano landed the good left hooks. A few more punches could have had him in even worse shape.

No one with a modicum of sense would say that Hatton/Lazcano even vaguely resembled Cotto/Gomez.

If Lazcano had been allowed to fight, he would have knocked Hatton down, which would have increased his chances of stopping him.

I never once suggested the fight should've been stopped. He was extremely wobbled and ready to go down. What would happen after he got up is only speculation.

The only time I've seen Hatton more hurt were in welterweight fights.

you can tell he was...he wobbled and looked dazed.

in the shoe incident he could have very well gotten knocked down had the ref not stopped it for a good minute to tie the shoe (i think his corner took a little extra time on purpose).
