Hard to come back when you don't have any Plan B's.
      1. Handpicked? Who did he ever duck?

      2. You doubt they'll throw him to the wolves again? So by that you think that Campbell is one of the wolves but Casamayor isn't?

      3. I got 5k on Diaz over Casamayor if you'll take that bet.

He didn't look that great in his last fight, but everyone is entitled to an off night.
He had a good percentage against Freitas and Julio Diaz, who had both feet in the casket. Juan Diaz's defense isn't all that, look at the fight with Lakva Sim, he was getting way too much by a guy who was slower than molasses. Sim makes Mayorga look like Wilfredo Benitez.

Billy Irwin? The guy came into the fight saying this was his last fight, win or lose. Translation: I'm here for a last payday.

Arthur Cruz, Fernando Angulo? Can you say handpicked opposition?

How can you hate a great guy inside and outside the ring?

At 24, not too many has achieved what he had.

So what if he doesn't have a killer punch? He has lots to complement for the lack of it.

            1. Diaz won his first belt in 2004, you don't think he could have faced anyone better than retired guys and handpicked fighters, like I dunno, Casamayor, Kid Diamond, Diego Corrales or Jose Luis Castillo? He picked an opportune time to unify.

            2. GBP is keeping it in the company. Either way they win. They won't risk him losing to another guy outside of GBP for a while.

            3. Ask me again when the fight is signed and they do a press conference.

When he 1st got his belt he was unknown, why would corrales or castillo fight this kid whos not a moneymaker? No one wanted to see that from a market stand point, He was slated to fight Kid Diamond in 2005 but Diamond pulled out of a fight. Angulo took his spot

I like Juan Diaz, he is exciting to watch.

I heard Diaz vs Katsidis is gonna be happening, that will be the fight of the year if it happens.

I dont like him. He throws a million smothered punches with nothing on them and HBO talks him up wayyyyyyyyyy too much. I also dont like how when he is interviewed after the fight you just hear his mom yelling about how great he is the whole time. Nothing exciting about his fights to me.

First and foremost I like Marquez because of his boxing ability and the fact that he has heart is second in line to me. This "true warrior" bull**** is getting old. If you really want to go that road, I'd throw Diaz in that category too. You're saying just because he doesn't hit hard means he's not a warrior? He fights his heart out every round and he never quit against Campbell. His work rate and ability to throw effective combinations with accuracy are something to admire but you only choose to focus on his lack of power and the fact that he isn't sculpted even though his conditioning is fantastic. I know it's your opinion and all, but your opinion is wrong.

That's not his mom yelling in the background. If you watched more than one of his fights you'd see his mom in the crowd hardly able to watch the fight because she is so scared.

That's what makes boxing unique. Some fighters look like they're throwing bombs but they don't have that effect. Others don't look like they hit that hard but can turn out your lights with one good shot. It's something you're born with (or without).
