all of the Tarver fights..he didnt counter off the ropes like he used to.

watch the Tito fight. th efirst 2-4 rounds. he just laid on the ropes and covered up when Tito was getting off. no countering what so ever.

Yup. So. The first Tarver fight was in 03. The second in 04 - where his back never touched the ropes until he went down.

The third one was in 05. He did VERY WELL against the ropes.

In his next 3 fights, he was SUPERB against the ropes.

But he's worse there. LMAO.

Dude's get so caught up in the "Roy Jones is shot" debate that they don't even know what that means.

Jones' legs, if anything are shot. Where he's vulnerable is when he ISN'T leaning against the ropes and is forced to use his legs. And that's exactly why I think Calzaghe-Jones is a very close fight. I'll go into detail later after I laugh at whatever comeonmang's response is.

Roy, like most old fighters, seems to fight in spurts. Not saying it wouldn't work though because Hopkins fights in spurts too and almost beat Joe. Plus Roy is still a lot faster than B-Hop. Holyfield fights in spurts and managed to pull out a decent heavyweight run this time last year. It can be done.
