Hence he only achieved stardom at the tail-end of his career, retiring with a record of 49-5-1 (36 knockouts). He was never knocked out himself.
Mike never landing a big fight had more to do with Manny than anything else. Manny liked Tommy better than Mike, plain and simple.

Like him or not, Mayweather is the standard that every other fighter is measured by. And yes, he is better than prime Oscar was.

I said I was using the Ring Magazine rankings as an example on how to rank fighters using + and -, it was not my opinion.

It's hard to classify boxers using only A, B, C. There is no way that Cotto is at the same level right now as a prime Roy Jones or Muhammad Ali although all three are ranked A-class.

I do like him.......... but he would not have beaten the Oscar or Mosely that fought each other in 2000.

All I'm saying is that it was an SD that should not have been an SD.

I would say that Cotto is boarderline............. but you are using 2 examples of the very very best A class fighters. We are taking about a scale that has one three grades....

It's a little naive to say that two fighters that have failed on the big stage on multiple occasions would beat a fighter that never has.
