Calzaghe landed AT BEST 10 clean shots the whole fight. Everything else was a flurry of female hand slaps. I dont see how that is boxing at all. The only thing Calzaghe knows exactly how to do is throw his hands around like my 15 year old neice.

I dont care about your foot movement, or adaptability. If you throw punches that way everything else is a moot point

Dr. I have a prescription for you:

    WATCH SOME JOE CALZAGHE FIGHTS

    That will relieve your symptoms.

What else do you want me to say, that hopkins looked like **** and ran and clinched the whole fight, that the thug got abused and then was crying to the referee to stop the fight? Well, it was said many times before me and there is no need to get into that argument again.

BTW, to compare Hopkins's style to Toney is rediculous, the only two things they got in common is that they like to counterpunch and that they are ****ing ugly.

I do not think Toney would knock Calzaghe out but it could be possible.

McCallum had a hell of a chin but Toney had him in trouble at the end of their second fight with combinations, Toney could also finish well as showed in his fights against Littles and Nunn.

We have seen it before, Calzaghe can get caught and hurt. He gets sloppy in there at times.

About the Griffin fights, to me it's like using Calzaghe's fights against Robin Reid and Kabery Salem, even the Hopkins fight as examples on why he would lose to Toney.
Calzaghe was clearly not at his best in those and neither was Toney.

Those losses count towards Toney's legacy but this is prime for prime so we have to assume that both fighters are at their best.

You shouldn't be allowed to talk when it comes to Joe Calzaghe. Here's a question, how would Calzaghe do against Jirov, Peter and Rahman?

No former middleweight with 'overrated' defense could survive against the heavyweights.

I thought he was doing a trendemous defensive job against Michael Nunn who was a fast handed, 6'3 southpaw with a strong jab.
You can talk about him being behind on points but I don't see many others doing a better job against a prime Nunn.

Many people mistake this current Calzaghe as the prime Calzaghe. Personally i think Alot of people are underating Toney. I know you've followed Calzaghe for a while nd you must know that Calzaghe can hit hard and imagine his workrate combined with his power which HE DID HAVE in his prime.

Calzaghe has fast hands, Solid chin, Workrate and Power in his Prime. I personally think it would be a very very very close fight. 115-112 or 114-113. I honestly believe that Calzaghe would have Toney backing up with his left hook at points, Toney could **** though and combined with Toney's stellar defensive skills I see this being Calzaghe's hardest fight. Much harder than the Hopkins fight which was not a prime Calzaghe.

Toney would try to land the right straight all night and he might even put Joe down because he come in off balance alot but Calazghe has commendable recovery skills and would most likey recover from anything Toney can give out. I would say it would be a very hard fight for both men and neither would have it easy as some seem to believe.

          um hello?

I never said anything about Hopkins. You need to get your mind off of a hopkins vs calzaghe discussion.

Im talking about Calzaghe and his so called boxing skills. Bringing hopkins arguments into the picture clearly states that your judgment is clouded, and your opinion means nothing.

A lot of people don't really understand the nature of boxing, and especially something iffy as a "boxing skill". In reality boxing skill got a much more broad definition then the cute moves most of you noobs mistake for it. Yeah, they are a part of it, but a very small part at that. In reality boxing skill is an ability to convincingly beat your opponent with the least possible damage dealt to yourself. That is it, this is what boxing is all about. Some less talented fighters and people in general think that a couple of boxing cliches and cute moves make a skilled fighter. Sometimes it's true, but in reality most of the people don't even see a half of what is happening in the ring, they don't understand the meaning and importance of things that they don't see and they dismiss it.

            Too bad for them.

WHat the ****, you are the one who brought hopkins into this discussion, not me.

Kid, just **** off, you are clearly out of your element.

As for the fight, I think the key element here will be that toney will let Calzaghe have his space and range and that will be a deciding factor in this affair.

I never mentioned anything about Hopkins and his performance against calzaghe, you did. I was simply referencing to Calzaghe's last fight, which just happened to be against Hopkins.

Calling me kid and telling me to **** off, doesnt help your point at all Im sorry. I have the fight, and have watched it many times. With the exception of a handful of blows, Calzaghe did nothing but throw palm slaps.

Saying Hopkins in a Thug and ran around, has nothing to do with Calzaghe. Unless you are saying Calzaghe throws his arm's around like a girl because Hopkins is a thug?

Do yourself a favor and watch the fight again. Get a pen and paper, and count how many clean blows Calzaghe landed.

calzaghe too fast for toney even at toney's best weight. Toney doesn't like fighters who are faster then him, roy jones jr ripped toney a new ******* and so could calzaghe. I know that calzaghe and jones jr have different styles but the style isn't what beat toney, it was the speed that beat toney. He never liked fighting boxers who could fight at faster speeds then himself.

Uh considering Toney could eat a punch from Sam Peter, why would anyone other than CanadaJoe/Tunney/WLAD OWNS or Lucky/Ricky/Whoever teh **** else pick Calzaghe by TKO? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard, EVER. A ****ing slapper is going to stop James Toney who has never even been in trouble in a fight? Seriously dude **** this forum. This is going way too far. Change those 3 to Toney by KO immediately.
