My argument is not that intelligence and analytical thinking are not related... I think they are directly related.
Debate is the area that I think is not related. If someone relentlessly posts about something, using big words, and using words they have come to realize sway people... that doesn't make them particularly intelligent on the subject... it just makes them a great orator.
By the way, I wasn't calling you out for spending time on here with the comment about more intelligence means you would be more successful. It was just a complement to your oratory skills (because it was a comparison between your oratory skills and intelligence), because I do think you are a wildly persuasive individual... and I was involved in both high school and college debate, so it is more of a complement than you know.
You've got me all wrong about the relentless stuff and the big words stuff. I go out of my way to tone down my true vocabulary and egghead sounding tendencies. Like you're saying here; one of my obvious strengths is an awareness of presentation and popular or persuasive themes. Now you're starting to scare me a little because this is me with the volume turned up to 4.
I'm not at all trying to sound clever or witty. And I don't seek attention. There has to be something genuine about this all for it to work, of course. People's instincts are good - even if their own communication abilities don't always show it, DW. It sounds like you believe the "sheeple" are ******. They aren't.Aren't you high and mighty. LOL.

The way that he ran into that uppercut - and he did it again on multiple occasions throughout the fight - is a little baffling considering Cotto's level of supposed expertise. Lunging like that is shockingly amateur. If it took Judah just over a minute to catch him doing that **** you can only image what a Mayweather would do to him. It would be a Turkey shoot.
I could not understand why.
I just figured it out.
Cotto was trying to prove a point. There is no other explination. He was trying to show the world that he could take Judah's BEST shot and keep on ROBOTING and he did just that. I think his chin held up well against Judah and Shane Mosley.Comment

DWiens421 was referring to the left hand shot Judah lands after the uppercut, not Cotto's actual fighting style. Judah lands a quick left and Cotto stumbles backwards a little. Not exactly ****** street in my opinion, but a solid shot that made Cotto move.Comment

Cotto immediately took over that fight after getting hit by one big punch.
I made too much of this last year, but the truth is that Cotto doesn't keep getting hit by the same punch.
In the first round Judah had his feet in the better position, but that never happened again.Comment
