Graham: "Without Cortez, Ricky Beats Mayweather"

To this day, I still don't see what Cortez did that was so extreme or even unexpected.

For those who think he favored Mayweather, watch the Hatton-Castillo fight. Same scenario- and BOTH guys benefit from fighting inside in that fight. Cortez broke them up- even stopped the fight at one point to reprimand both guys for holding (sound familiar?). Not because he has favorites, but because as a ref he doesn't permit excessive holding. Hatton won against Castillo because it was Castillo. And he lost against Mayweather because he was fighting the superior fighter. Not because of Joe Cortez.

there were a million differences..... and all of them evidenced the gulf in quality between Floyd and Ricky.
