When Hopkins did throw his punches looked better, and he probably had a better percentage of effective shots, whatever compubox says, but no way on this earth did he land more.

You can't just act as though calzaghe didn't hit Bernard at all.
Im sorry, calzaghe threw about 1,000 punches and landed 3.

Plain and simple, in that fight.

    Who landed the cleaner shots?

Who landed the more effective shots?

    Who landed the Harder Shots?

    Who knocked who down?

    Who had the better defence?

    Please answer.

he landed more effective than when Hopkins put Joe on his arse Lmao ,do me a favour where is the logic

Terrible, that post doesn't even make sense. What are you saying? That because Joe suffered a knockdown it is impossible that he get up and go on to land more punches? Madness.

I repeat, perhaps Hopkins had a better percentage of effective punches, perhaps his 'effective punches' were even more powerful and effective than Joe's 'effective punches', but he did not, by any stretch of any imagination land more of them than Joe Calzaghe did in that fight.

Hopkins lost fairly and squarely to a great fighter at the end of a great career. You should just accept it.

Gayweather was rocked in that fight and only the ropes saved him.
                  Um, errr, OK. (?!?)

Not sure how Mayweather entered into a conversation about Calzaghe and Hopkins...but OK.

Anyway.... Hopkins is 43 years old. Hopkins has won 2 of his last 5 fights. One of those wins was against a much smaller guy. Hopkins had two fights in two years.

Fair play to Calzaghe. He won the fight. Hop wasn't able to keep pace with Joe's activity. But it is indicative that Joe ate canvas and got rocked. I would have expected A LOT more impressive showing.

                    Technical skill,

Who landed the cleaner shots? Hopkins

Who landed the more effective shots? Hopkins

Who landed the Harder Shots? Hopkins

                    Who knocked who down? Hopkins

Who had the better defence? Hopkins

Who landed more scoring shots? Calzaghe

Who was the more aggressive fighter? Calzaghe

                    So....

Calzaghe won. This is insane. Hopkins doesn't get to win solely because his punching technique was better than Joe's. He didn't land enough of his beautiful punches to win the fight. He was outscored by the more aggressive fighter who landed more shots.

Why is this so hard for you guys to accept. I repeat, your argument is absurd.

Hopkins did not lose cause Calzaghe did'nt win the fight

its madness to suggest that Calzaghe landed the cleaner punches when he was on the deck & Hopkins was'nt ,where is the logic

Hopkins landed more effective punches throughout the fight the fact that he did'nt sustain it is due to his 43 years thats why he dropped a decison not because of the great things Calzaghe was doing in the fight & that is why in his prime he would take Zag to school
