ive been saying this myself ,Tarver is a bigger threat to Calzaghe than anyone
So, do you think he destroys calzaghe or wins a close one agaisnt Calzaghe? I can't see anyone in this sport in the light heavy weight destroying Calzaghe, I just see them winning a close controversial win. Meaning that some people would think Calzaghe won and others would think his opponent won. Kind of like the hopkins fight, even though hopkins basically got away with using his head and faking low blows.
It might be. I think its very hard to assess how good any of these fighters are these days. Jones and Tarver are old, Glen Johnson old and only OK, Dawson looking dodgy and unproven. I can't tell which is the best or who would have the best chance, it could easily be Tarver, or anyone else.
Or none of them...
Tarver is still a young 39 though he has'nt had many hard fights he did'nt turn Pro untill he was 28
he is a very good counter puncher with good power & he has very good footwork & he has a good chin too and he showed no signs of slowing down against Woods infact his workrate was consistent throughout the fight with Woods wether he was moving or throwing combinations

i dont think Tarver would take him out but i think he could win a decision
Tarver was in the junkheap rep wise.. He beats Woods and suddenly he's a force? I don't know about that.. Not just yet. He got tooled by Hopkins and his excuses for that performance were bull****. He started that fight 100%. Hopkins beat the confidence and will out of him. It could happen again.
Tarver's only chance would be to land something big, he simply doesnt throw enough punches. But being a lefty would probably bode well for him since Cal is used to orthodox. But I really could see Cal mesmerizing Tarver if he wanted to.

thats not the case for me Tarver is & alway has been talented & on his best night is capable of beating anyone its just he lacks focus but in most of his biggest fights he has produced Johnson 2 ,Rjj 2 ,Woods
LOL people act like Hopkins beat the **** outta Tarver thier was like the 5 punches in the whole fight and the knockdwon was to do with balance Tarver was not hurt at all

Tarver was not in peak condition as far as im concerned thats why Hopkins won but by no stretch of the imagination was he beat down like some people like to make out LOL
IMO there were less pucnhes in that fight than thier was in Hopkins v Taylor 1 or 2 ,which tells u all u need to know about the activity levels of both fighters
