Ok, he obviously is skilled, but not enough to get the praise he gets. Put him in the ring with somebody like RJJ and watch him get embarrassed.

RJJ would lose to Calzaghe at this stage of his career, even in his prime it would have been a close fight, RJJ has never been in the ring with someone like Calzaghe. Calzaghe alters his style when he needs to, if thats not a sign of a great fighter I don't know what is. I have never seen a fighter been so hammered before each fight, being told he will get knocked out etc and end up winning by a wide margin.

Calzaghe outlanded Hopkins every single round of that fight, was more active and considering Calzaghe doesn't study fighters before he fights them he adjusted and found him out after a couple of rounds. Who the **** has Calzaghe beat worth mentioning?? An old Eubank, an overrated Jeff Lacy, Kessler, and a 43yr old over the hill Hopkins. You say a green Hopkins made Roy look ordinary. Are you forgetting that Roy won that fight 116-112 on all scorecards. which is the closest anybody came to beating him in his prime. Or are you forgetting how he completely outclassed James Toney who was rated VERY highly at the time until Roy embarrassed him!!

Yea i must of forgot Pazienza, Thorton, Sosa, Lucas, Brannon, Griffen, Hill, Valle, Grant, Frasier, Johnson, Telesco, Hall, Harding, Harmon...... Don't get me wrong Roy has some great wins but is it so different to Calzaghes record looking back?
