You could be right but i would take better skills and better athletic ability. Anyone can have heart and desire.

Just because some dude has 178 win with 150 kayos does not mean he is better then some dude that has 45 fight with 37 kayos in an actual fight.

How much have you seen of any fight pre 1960 to say how great they truly are. If you see fights from then they are likely special fights and not some mundane **** that show some weakness.

Also im not agruing specifics its impossible to say who would win past or present in any given fight.

Condition and knowledge of the human body are atleast 5 times greater today tehn 100 years ago. We have learned so much about health, nutrition, how the human body works. I do not see how fighters today could be lesser athletes then today's boxers

Also just because they will not allow you to go on against your own health like they used to should not be held against todays fighters.
the main argument here is that people are constantly comparing floyd mayweather to sugar ray robinson.

      There is no comparison between 39-0 (25 ko's) and 173-19 (108 ko's)
      There's just no comparison

Why say that then why not just be quiet and say nothing which is what that sentence is. If you do not have something constructive to say do not; does not hurt me at all bro.

Threads like that is why i started this but im not trying to rate PBF above SRR. I just do not get the line of thinking that guys from the past are fire breathing beasts who can not know defeat to anyone from today.

i think guys in the past were a little "tougher" mentally, but todays fighters are so superior physically it would more than make up for it.

**** i was watching an ESPN program about a black fighter named Joe Jennette from the early 1900's.. he fought for the black heavyweight title in a fight that went 49 rounds.. he was decked 27 times and the other guy 12 or 13.... some crazy numbers!

it's just a different sport today son, you wouldn't see floyd fighting that many fights, those old boys had to fight to eat, there wasn't millions on the table per fight, fighters weren't protected, there's tons of reasons why we rate srr in another league from floyd.

Great fighters are great fighters no matter the era. I already talked about how they are different era and you are giving old fighters way to much credit in my eyes. I do not see how i am wrong in my thinking though or why people should get jumped on for siding with todays greats.
