I don't think is was speed as much as reflexes and split second anticipation. In my opinion these, as well as his determination and strong chin, were his major assets.

I knew this was coming as soon as Byrd moved down to lhw. I like the matchup. Both have hand speed. RJJ has suspect beard but Byrd has light fists. Could make for an entertaining boxing match! Get ***azhe 1st Roy!

Chris Byrd is now a more legitimate opponent than Roy Jones in the LHW division I would think.

Hell, he is probably even a more credible opponent for Calzaghe than Pavlik would be, because of the size factor alone.

Chris Byrd wasn't a big HW. He isn't that much bigger than Roy either.
