Ok FIRST of all... he called out Byrd for a reason if you payed attention... it would be the first time in history to former HW champions, came down to fight at LHW...

firstly if you dont qualify for the position,the only other guy i can think of would be jones himself

secondly,slightly overstating it my friend,if jones is a legit former heavyweight im brad pitts kidney stone,and chris byrds at this weight cos hes a **** heavyweight,like roy!! stop making out its some milestone in boxing it would be 2 "past it" fighters one was great, the other never was!

Roy said himself that a fight with him and Byrd would be boring (Heavyweight). I think I remember him saying it would be too tactical and, one would be waiting on the other to make a mistake. I don't think it would be any different at light heavyweight. Then again that was before his loses and he is hungry again. I agree he probably wants the fight for historical purposes. I think after Glen his days of taking anything or, anyone for granted are over. Which would you rather see him at light heavy or SMW?

i do read books,the founding fathers and the willie pep bio are flavour of the month at the mo(highly recommended),the mr men will be dusted off forthwith,cant wait.

If he claimed a SMW title, he would be TOP 10 ATG hands down

to go from MW > SMW > LHW > HW < LHW < SMW

would pretty much be unbelievable, especially at this age.
