He will. I really think he will have a good chance to dominate LHW for a year or two.

i can't see why he would want Byrd. Byrd hasn't even fought there yet. As for a bout against Calzaghe i would love to see it. It would be an amazing thing if Jones beat him and a great career ending win.

It just seems like Roy is desperate to keep his name out there. There is NO logic in calling out Byrd, of ALL people, and of course completely dismissing Calzaghe as some kind of tune-up. Ugh.

If he's not careful, Pavlik is going to get the Calzaghe fight and all that will be left for Roy are fights HBO and Showtime won't touch. It should be Calzaghe or bust for him, and he should be VERY willing to take short money to make it happen.

Ok FIRST of all... he called out Byrd for a reason if you payed attention... it would be the first time in history to former HW champions, came down to fight at LHW...

Second of all in no way shape or form does Roy think Joe is a tune-up :roy5:

This fight would be boring as hell. Byrd looks in terrific shape but I'm dubious about how good he'll look when he gets in the ring after shifting like what, 30 lbs or something? Hmm, time will tell. I woulda preferred him at cruiser, he'd have mobbed up in Hayes absence

I agree, and am left a little confused as to the situation on the Cal-RJJ fight. RJJ seems to be talking about it like it's gona happen, which even Calzaghe has stepped marginally short of saying. However, Calzaghe was equally open about his enthusiasm to fight RJJ, and refers to it as the most likely fight.

For it to have gone quiet, with talks of Pavlik, I'm surprised his enthusiasm and comments in the public eye seems to have lowered dramatically, to the point I'm wondering if he's really chasing it as hard as he once was, or made out he was. Instead of talking about that next fight with Zaghe, which you'd expect, he's talking about Byrd, seems odd.

I can't help but be sceptical especially given some of his past, sorry. He seems to put on a nice guy act i.e. post PC with Zaghe. But he's clearly shrewd when you look at vids like when Hops just fought and called him out, went to RJJ on vid, he was offish, arrogant, playing the big man, and very vague. And I'm sorry, I don't think it's all gone, I'm losing confidence in this fight coming off when RJJ talks about other **** like this.

If he's true to his word as "the first in line to now fight the top guy, in his backyard", for probs lower money then when in his prime, then make it happen Roy. Instead I get a distinct feeling he's not chasing it as hard now, and talking of someone un proven at LHW. Ok great another ex HW whatever. You'll be under dog to Joe mate so I'd focus on talking about, and working on that not Byrd.
