If Calzaghe can make a much bigger Kessler reluctant to punch then he can do the same to Taylor. Everyones arguement for Kessler winning was that he would walk through Calzaghe's "slaps" and pressure him for the win.

Calzaghe is a very strong guy and I think a lot of people underestimate that.
Well Calzaghe isn't going to be hurting people with punches very often, but his punches definately have more than enough power to get respect from his opponent, as has been shown in fights like the Kessler fight.

If guys like Calzaghe or Wright (who everyone says can't punch for ****) were really that weak, a lot more people would just walk through their ****. There is at least enough power to keep their opponents honest obviously.

      Firstly, it's "than" not "then".

Secondly, Taylor isn't as skilled as Calzaghe and doesn't stand a chance of beating him.

Seems like Calzaghe can at least punch as hard as Cory Spinks, considering he is a 154 pounder and Calzaghe is a 175 pounder.
I agree that Calzaghe would be going forward, i can remember a fight where Taylor went forward. But Pavlik was also going forward against Taylor, but Taylor was still outboxing him at times

Nobody was saying Kessler was gonna pressure Calzaghe because thats not how he fights. And idk what ur talking about, i saw Kessler go toe to toe and punch with Calzaghe for the first 6 rounds. Then Calzaghe hurt him to the body with a series of shots to the liver, and THATS when he stopped throwing.

Oh yeah... Wright backed Taylor up too, and he can definately not punch as hard as Calzaghe. I'll make that quite clear, even though I am a huge Winky fan. If a guy with that little punch can back Taylor up (he's a career 154 pounder remember), then Calzaghe can do it.

Kball this is the dumbest post you have ever posted, your posts get dumber by the day... LoL ... Taylor better then Calzaghe? And Kball is also the same person who thinks Allen Green punches harder then pavlik.. Roflamo

Taylor will never have the stamina to keep up with Calzaghe, the older man has a way better stamina and throws more punches then taylor ever will in his entire career. Taylors fast but thats all he has, his stamina is not that great he saves it up even against tiny middle weights who he was struggling with. Cory Stinks was even giving Taylor problems.

Technically, Winky did not back him up. Taylor decided to back up as he was getting more tired of throwing bombs at Winky's arms and nothing landing clean. He tried to control Winky with his jab but it didn't work and then his eye puffed up and he couldn't see ****, and that's when he really started backing up.

But the first few rounds, Winky was covering up and Taylor was throwing constand bombs at him.

Taylor has a great jab and Calzaghe literally does nothing to overcome a good jab. He just runs in there.

Jab, Straight right hand, all night for Taylor. He avoided the ropes brilliantly against Pavlik in that rematch. No doubt he is terrible fighting off the ropes, he is no james toney, but he has become very good at avoiding them.

So in the center of the ring, i think Taylor outclasses Calzaghe with Calzaghe floundering around like a ****** for the much of the fight.

Does anybody honestly believe that Calzaghe would have beaten HOpkins if HOpkins had the legs to avoid the ropes???

I still get a chuckle when people call Calzaghe a good boxer. He is a good FIGHTER. He has very limited boxing ability, and it'll take a guy like Taylor with his quick jab to expose that.

Calzaghe-Pavlik is a much more even and close fight. Id pick Taylor by stoppage over Calzaghe in the late rounds.
THAN THAN THAN THAN.. not then.. THAN....

Oh and you are wrong about the talent thing.. Taylor Has Skills.. Calzaghe oozes talent.. there is as big a difference between the 2 as there is between the meanings of than and then
