I think this will be a good fight and I don't think it will be as one sided as the Lacy fight. Taylor is a pretty damn good boxer and Pavlik was able to handle him. Both guys have a really high workrate so this fight will be a ****ing ****er.

I really doubt there will be a KO in this fight but I wouldn't be surprised if there were KD's for either or both guys. I picked Calzaghe by decision but I would like to be wrong if the fight comes about. Pavlik is one of my favorite fighters in the game right now.

Gotta hand it to Pavlik, he is fighting whoever, whenever and props to Joe for wanting take this fight against a dangerous fighter like Pavlik at this point in his career.

I think a fight against Jones will generate more money for Calzaghe but Pavlik is more dangerous now I think.

NO doubt, this will be a huge win for either guy and great for the sport.

I'm pretty new on this board so I'm wondering how to bet points? If the fight happens I'll bet anyone all my points on Calzaghe.

Just find someone to bet with you (make a thread or send a PM) and then if you lose, you donate the said amount of points to them. If you win, keep hounding the mau***a until they pay.

I think Pavlik's style is the protype for beating Zaghe. Pavlik is a strong technical fighter, like Kessler for example, but he's smarter than Kessler and won't stand squared-up in front of Zaghe. Pavlik has a great mix of speed and power and likes to throw in combinations when he has any opportunity. He's hungrier than Zaghe.

I say Pavlik gives the judges enough reason over 12 rounds to give him the UD, based on matching Joe on punches throw and landed and beating him on power shots landed. Another very viable end would be Pavlik landing a clean body shot that crumples Joe, but I don't see Kelly ending it by head hunting because Joe's got too good movement.

Nothing Joe could hit Kelly with coming in would discourage Kelly from coming forward, so it would make for a very interesting fight.

I wouldn't a tall be surprised to see Kelly put Joe on the canvas at some point, and if that happens Kelly would definitely start looking for a finish.

I want to see this fight.
How did Hopkins reduce Joe's workrate? Apart from the clinching, it was with good counterpunching.

What's Joe's greatest strength? His counterpunching.

Add to that the fact that Joe is physically the much stronger man and Pavlik will be moving backwards all night and all of a sudden Pavlik is unable to load up on his punches. The sad fact of the matter is, Pavlik will be unable to throw anything to keep Calzaghe off him, not the other way around.

I picked Calzaghe to decision Pavlik, but it's a tough call, I'm surprised at the poll, I read Pavlik is another Lacy for Calzaghe. That's the worst comparison ever. Pavlik has a brutal uppercut, which Calzaghe is known to get hit by when he comes on the inside, even though it's hard to time it. Also, unlike Lacy, Pavlik has a great jab. Pavlik is leagues above Lacy.

Fighting Kelly Pavilk would be the easy option for Calzaghe.

He's bigger, he's faster and he will land more to a wide UD.

Roy Jones would be a far tougher prospect for Joe.

                    Bump!

The demand for a Pavlik-Calzaghe fight should be on the rise following Pavlik's demolision of welshman Lockett.
