Take me through it in technical terms, because when threads got made referring to Cotto's ability to stand up to pressure, and Cotto's chin, there were non answers and tounge in cheek responses. Some Cotto supporters have already stepped forward and said they can't pick him. It's reality time.
i can't pick cotto to win either...

however i can't pick margarito as well...

when the opening bell rings it could turn out to be an EXTREMELY close fight...or a one sided beating but we dont know until fight night.

Cotto SHOULD be able to beat margarito...

    why?

he's more technically sound...he has the CHOICE to box margarito to a decision...margarito doesnt have that CHOICE with cotto...why? cotto is a superior boxer to margarito by far...if margarito decided to box cotto would beat him at nearly every turn...

so long as cotto's pride doesnt get in the way and he can stay focused and box (rather than prove his heart/courage and slug it out with margarito) he should be able to win...

margarito does have a better chin (by a pretty comfortable margin)
margarito does use 1200+ punches a fight (which is a challenge for even floyd mayweather)...

but cotto can box him; keep him at the end of his jab and when margarito comes in (many times with his hands down; especially in the cintron rematch) cotto can hit him with overhand rights...

cotto should jab him and stay away from margarito; let margarito come to him...hit him with a good jab; right...and as he goes to get back outside stick him with the jab again...

if margarito begins to just jump right in (with no jab) cotto should duck low; bust him with a good left to the body and tie him up...

cotto very well can keep margarito away with good boxing discipline...my only concern is can cotto put away his warrior mentality; especially against a guy like margarito...

cotto should be able to win if he boxes.

Cotto has fought at a level a couple notches above Margarito and is undefeated with a higher KO%. On paper, this looks like an easy pick. I think it will be a competitive bout with Cotto winning SD. Probably at least one of the judges will see it Margarito's way style wise.

Regardless, I won't have much money on this fight. Just going to sit back and enjoy.

The other 2 importants fights in Margaritos Career where Santos and Williams and he lost to both. Cotto has face much tougher opposition. And in every fight he has gotten better. Out performing his opponent. You are just hoping that Margo lands a Lucky punch a Ko Cotto. But Cottos movement, speed, power and Smartness wil be to much for MArgo to overcome. Margarito just comes forward throwing looping punches most of the time. And he is not good at all fighting backwords. He maybe hit Cotto and maybe buzz him every now and then but he wont come close to a victory.
                HaHA.. Ok, pal. Sure thing.

Cotto might show us the will of a Joe Frazier, refusing to back down after getting knocked down.
Margarito might show us that he doesn't like tougher guys, and eventually foil when pressure doesn't work.

Cotto might look like Ali when he feel the sheer force of Margarito, running like the ***** some claim to see in him.
Margarito might look like another version of Foreman when he drives Cotto back with the force of his punches.

Cotto might show heart like Ali.
Margarito might show ******ity like Foreman.

There is alot of if's and butt's around this fight, but ignore that and look at the facts for a minute.

                      - Cotto is not as strong as Margarito, forget about it.
                      - Margarito is by far the bigger man.
                      - Cotto has shown us that he doesn't like being pushed back.
                      - Margarito's style is all about pushing people back

                      - Cotto boxing backwards has often been interpretated as brilliant boxing ability.
But could it also mean that he gives up his ground if he's facing a wall? I think so.

                      - Cotto has shown me vulnerability to body punches. Margarito can hurt people to the body.
                      - Cotto was pushed within proximity of his limits, both mentally and physically, against Malignaggi. That was nothing compared to what he'll be facing this time around.

                      - Margarito is mexican. They are very used to being manhandled to the body. Cotto's body attack will not be effective, at least not to the extent some expect it to be.

-In order to get to Margarito's body with hooks and uppercuts, what does Cotto need to do?
Exactly, he needs to get close. How?
By doing what he does best, lunging in, face first.

But what is Margarito's money punch?

                      That's right, long uppercuts.
