Also, what do you mean by "hometown stoppage", I've heard of a hometown decsion before, but I'd love to you to tell me which fight Joe has had that he diddn't deserve to win.

Alot of Calzaghes fights were stopped way too early when he was about to ko his opponents the ref stopped it... He got screwed in his own fights making it look like the refs nutt hugged on him. And I've seen Calzaghe pissed in a bunch of his fights when they stop it early. One fight that wasn't stopped too early was the byron mitchell fight which morons complained it was stopped early. Calzaghe seriously hurt Mitchell in that fight, after Mitchell knocked Calzaghe down from a nice punch. Calzaghe came back with bombs that nearly took Mitchells head off.
I posted this video on my own topic yesterday but here it is, yet another early stoppage by the ref... It sucks, that the refs would screw Calzaghe like this and make it look like it was rigged even though he was clearly destroying his fighters before the refs stopped the fights.

Hmmm. I'm pretty sure Nigel Benn is considered on of the hardest hitters ever at SMW, and I'm pretty sure Eubank ought to know. I repeat Calzaghe was considered a heavy handed KO artist in his early career, to the point where it was seen as his main strength. Go back and watch any of his early career fights and you'll hear the commentators talking about it, but I suppose they could all be wrong and you could be right....

daggum you didn't address the valid actual example of Eubank. Nigel Benn, a notoriously big hitter struggled ever knocking Eubank around and pretty sure never did. Calzaghe did it in the first round.
Heart is right, a few of his fights were stopped somewhat early, whereby clearly another minute it would have been total knock out. It's a shame that wasn't aloud to happen more often, but more of a shame you can't watch several of his fights and see it, he hurts opponents often.
Eubank said he hits big, Byron Mitchell was hurt, Lacy's face was buggered, Veit knocked down 3 times in one round always looking stunned, struggling to walk, and the last time pretty solidly knocked out. There's several others.
And he's not accurate. Dude that's just disagreeing with fact. He normally has a much higher pct then his opponent, or most other top competitors. So your arguments are looking somewhat ignorant to the facts, and biased.Last edited by Kris Silver; 05-11-2008, 06:33 PM.
