Hatton "lost it" against Floyd? I'm afraid that the vast majority of objective observers saw it differently.

At no point was Hatton landing effective punches. Or punches at all for that matter. Hatton was losing the fight inside. Hatton was losing the fight at distance.

Luis Collazo is a very light hitter. He had Hatton out on his feet. Floyd is not a big puncher at 140/147. He knocked Hatton out with only 120 punches landed.

That's because Hatton isn't a Welterweight and has no business at that division.

When the person says 'lost it', he means that Hatton lost his temper, lost his composure and left his gameplan. Hatton never fought the fight he should've fought. He want head-hunting when he should've played to the body all night. End of the day, the ref frustrated him (and thats not an excuse, cos I think that Floyd would beat Hatton 9 times out of 10 regardless) and Hatton lost his gameplan.

i couldnt agree more. hatton took the fight believing he could win but he had to have a gameplan. insted he went in there like a headless chicken and handed himself to floyd. floyd fort sensibly and with his head.

Yes. i understand what he meant by "lost it"...and I am dis*****g the people who see that as "the reason" that Hatton lost the fight.

Hatton lost to Floyd because Floyd is just better in every category. Aren't you frustrated by the people who can't see that? They have had six months to reflect on it.

Did Hatton land a single effective bodyshot in rounds 1 through 6?

I think that there were a few reasons Hatton lost to Floyd.

i). He left his gameplan and started throwing only head-shots against a fighter they are ineffective with.

ii). He didnt use his jab to get inside.

iii). The referee stopped him from taking the fight as close quarters as he wanted. Admonishing and frustrating him constantly, while seemingly leaving Floyd completely unwarned.

iv). Floyd is the better fighter and fought the better fight.

Thats the completely serious and sensible critique of the fight and the reason why I still think that Hatton COULD win against Floyd, but doubt that he would, even if they fought a couple more times.

Hatton is a good fighter. But it would be impossible to compile a highlight reel for Ricky in that fight because RH just did not land any clean punches. Inside or outside.

Ricky's biggest highlight of the fight was Floyd stumbling off a missed punch.

He certainly ate a ****load of clean punches. The problem is though, to beat Floyd you've GOT to get inside, you'd be completely unable to beat him from the outside, so Ricky knew that in order to get to the inside, he'd have to eat some clean punches. His game plan, no doubt, would have been to use a lot of head-movement and footwork and jab his way to the inside by stepping to the side and creating angles. Unfortunately, he wasnt able to pull it off. Partially due to his own failings of coming forward with his head sticking out and taking a punch for his troubles, utilising poor footwork, no head-movement, without coming in with his jab and without having his defense raised...ever. Partially because Floyd is just ****ing good and he makes you fight worse than you normally do because of how well he has fought.
