    Sorry for the repetition

Sorry for the semi-duplication. Thought I'd lost the first letter so repeated. My computer plays tricks on me.

My name "Edgar G." makes sense to ME....as well as to others with intelligence, who normally call me "Edgar" in posts.
I stand corrected in every way. I'm sorry. Sorry that they don't seem to teach grammar in the remedial class.

Perhaps the work that both brothers have been doing for deprived children all over the world, the massive amounts of charity that they both GIVE and generate others in to giving, might also have something to do with it.
Currently the biggest philanthropist on the planet is Bill Gates. Should the WBC make him champion emeritus of whatever the **** weight class he falls in? Essentially you're telling me that the WBC is giving Klitschko special status for three fights and some charitable work not related to boxing. That's after fannying about and not fighting Rahman. Instead of being stripped of his title like anyone else would be he was rewarded for repeatedly postponing his fight. Then he announces his automatic title shot in his comeback as soon as someone he is sure he can beat wins the title. That's pretty weak and sums up why I disapprove of this automatic title shot rule.

of course the WBC wants Vitali to have and win this fight, it's business
That's the problem I have with it. The WBC changes their own rules whenever they fancy to help whoever is going to benefit them the most. When a sanctioning body awards priveleges to fighters on any other basis than the merit of the fighter himself they have overstepped a line. Klitschko hasn't fought in nearly four years. He bitched out of his last fight. Right now he should be as far down the rankings as you can sink. But Sulaiman's worship of the almighty dollar overrules sense and fairness.

And I feel sorry for Sam Peter who had to basically fight for the title three times to win it, including twice against the same guy, only to be told his reward is not a nice money fight against a big shot or a defense of his choosing or even the opportunity to put the WBC's mandatory out of the way, but an automatic shot by some old ****er with a dodgy knee who hasn't so much as skipped rope since 2005.

You make points which, at first glance seem valid. But.....you are well aware that I was not putting the Klitschkos on the same financial level as Gates, Soros or Warren Buffet, nor starting an "Emeritus" contest. K has earned no more than many another top fighter, but what he's done with it is quite another story. He's put it to ggod use intead of cattering i from casino balconies, or buying Riolls Royces for his girl friends, or whatever...Also the causes for which he uses his fame.

Perhaps the WBC's reason was quite different from what I wrote, but I merely repeated the published facts, with a little of my own opinion.

K didn't "fanny" around (interesting word) over fighting Rahman. he could have chewed up Rahman and spat him out without raising much of a sweat. That is well known. His injuries consisted of TWO...2.... The first one supposed to have been a thigh, which turned out to be a spinal problem, for which he had surgery. The second one was his knee, which caused his retirement. The postponments in between were not really arranged dates, only suggested dates, but none of the accompanying details had been arranged, like TV, arena, publicity, tickets, undercard etc. The reason they weren't arranged was because 1) the thigh didn't heal. 2) they discovered it was the spine 3) he had an op 4) He was ready to ight at an already available date in September 5)Rahman fought Barett in August 6)This put the fight back to Nov, when he broke his knee anterior cruciate ligament, as well as tearing other cartilages.

So there you have it. In my opinion, King, on behalf of Rahman (and himself) was very smart about the whole thing, and parleyed the fortunes of a very ordinary fighter who's good luck couldn't be expected to last, into a couple of big paydays. His Barrett fight was a snoozer, his Maskaev fight was .....well, how can I say it.......??

As for Sam Peter, he's had a run of amazing luck for such an ordinary basher. After knocking down a long string of cripples and invalids, he came to Toney.
Toney didn't deserve to fight for the #1 spot, but when he did, he won that first fight with Peter. In the second one, not only was he completely out of shape, but had slid very far from his first fight standard. His complete lack of athletic standards had caught up with him. Not Peter's fault I know, but think that the McCline fight showed him in his proper light. Tough, strong, brave, but very limited. Not championship material...at least so far.

I am thinking Peter may be the favorite because of Vitali's long ass layoff and injury problems....If that's the case I will be betting top dollar on Vitali to KO Peter.

We all seem to forget that Peter actually was interim champ, and got his fight with the champion-Maskaev- which he won, and NOW is getting his big money fight. Also he was offered 3 mill to step aside so that K could fight Maskaev, which he refused. It's reasonable to assume that he got more for the Maskaev fight. So he's had rather3 well-paying fights in a row, plus the Klitschko fight which, since he's the champion, should pay certainly much more than the 3 previous well paying ones. So he's NOT short of money.

The Klitschkos are the Delahoyas of the heavyweight scene.

                how the hell

Vitali should have had to fight in a elimnatior atleast before this fight was made. How do you take four years off come back and get a shot at the belt. Not to mention Peter has been getting jerked by the WBC for like two years. He had to fight James Toney twice instead of once to get his shot. Then Masgev pulls out he has to fight Mccline in an intrim tittle bout. Then he finnaly gets his shot wins and now has a mandatory right away. CAN THIS GUY GET TO PICK A FIGHT FOR A CHANGE. I have to question if this guy was one of the white Klitcho brothers would he be treated this way answer no obviosly because vitli hasn't fought in four years and gets to pick his fights and just for the recoer i'm white incase you where wondering.

What's all the "HAS To ...HAS TOO stuff. The guy's a fighter, so he fights. He doesn't get to pick anything. He doesn't know enough about boxing to do any "picking". His managers and promoters do the picking. I thought every boxing "fan" knew this. When you get to do your own picking, then you've arrived amongst the "great ones". And that's not Sam Peter...yet.

He had to fight Toney again because nearly everyone at ringside (except the judges)said Toney had won, so it was controversial enough for a rematch to be ordered, and for his managers to make a good payday from it. He fought McCline because Maskaev was injured and they wanted to keep him busy for another good payday against someone well on the downgrade. The fact that McCline surprised him, and should have won, is an indication of Sam's actual skill and experience.

K was training hard for Rahman until a few days before the Nov 12th 2005 fight when he was injured, and immediately retired.

Reports say that he's been in training for months, was training hard as late as September 9th 3007, when he had to pull out of his tune-up against Jameel McCline. In early Jan 2008 he said he'd been in the gym for over 6 weeks. So whilst he's been out of action for 2 years he hasn't been in a ring fight for near 3 1/2 years. He should have taken at least one or two tuneups before fighting for the title, but maybe he knows best. Or doesn't want to lose the chance that the 2 brothers could be champions at the same time, their lifelong dream.....Who knows.
