    Looked okay, really not good enough to be honest at this stage, watching him you can tell he's no longer in his twenties, a fighter nearing the end of a jarringly important career, but Mayweather is a whole different proposition and he fights like a 21 year old

        Feel free to factor the actual circumstances and logistics involved when you answer this question guys.. Oscar is 35 after all.. Sharp is sharp at his age and present condition. Nothing else.

              Im no fan of DLH, but thought Forbes was very tough and made it difficult for DLH to look really good. He wanted the KO, but couldnt get it.

              IMO DLH looked good, not sure if id describe him as 'sharp' but definatly not shot.
              He could beat most fighters out there if he fights like that.

              I think a Cotto fight would be very interesting, but DLH needs to improve his defence.

                He didn't get the KO so of course people are criticizing him. He looked good against Forbes but that don't mean much given the advantages he had. Good against Forbes don't translate to good in the overall WW mix.

                  For further context purposes regarding use of the term "sharp" I'll remind folks that De La Hoya has fought twice in two years, and only a handful of times in the last five or so. Sharp; as in sharp factoring in actual reality. Damn.

                    While I think his shot is too strong of a word, I would say far from his prime is a better way of putting it. He was very dissapointed in his performance, you could see in his eyes a man who had come to a realization that his better days are over. That's not going to stop him from going on with his plans, but the way things are going his career is going to end in a very ugly way.

                    While I like too give some credit to Stevie Forbes, prime Delahoya would have knocked him out inside of five.

                      Agree with this and other posts like it. Of course De La Hoya looked good beating Forbes, that was the whole point. We are just being fooled into thinking he has a live shot at Mayweather. He's not shot, but old, definitely.
