I don't think Lewis was "scared" I do think he thought he would probably lose a rematch and at best he knew it was going to be a war.

Let's remember that Lewis CHOSE to fight Johnson when Vitali was his mandatory and only fought him when Johnson got injured 10 days before the fight and Vitali was man enough to fight the Champ on such short notice. Then HBO put pressure on Lewis by telling him that Vitali is more than happy to take the fight on such short notice. Lewis was losing 4-2 on every card and was lucky that Vitali got a fluke cut most likely from a headbutt. Then Lewis says he will give Vitali a rematch if he proves his eye is healed which Vitali did in spectacular fashion by knocking Johnson (a fighter Lewis deemed worthy to fight instead of his mandatory Vitali) the **** out. Then 2 months late Lewis decides to turn down his biggest payday when he was going to take Tyson to court to try and force a rematch before he fought Vitali.

Lewis had no intension's of retiring and wanted an easy payday with a Tyson rematch instead of a war he was most likely going to lose with Vitali.

Why was Lewis trying to give Sanders and Williams tips on how to beat Vitali? Does anybody really think Lewis retires if Vitali lost to Johnson or stayed retired had Vitali lost to Sanders or Williams?

It's not as simple as yes or no. Certainly Lennox felt he had unfinished business. He wanted badly for Vitali to lose so he could rest in peace, and he carried a grudge with Wlad too. But he seems to have moved on.

Lennox knew he was done as a fighter, he got by Vitali Barely (and won might i add) he is one of few who beat the TOP of the next generation of fighters. But he knows in his prime he could've beat Vitali so much easier and taken alot less damage doing so.

            his biggest payday?
            LOL
Tyson was the biggest Payday Lewis received he recieved upward from 30 million for that and ranks behind Mayweather Hatton only JUST for Britsh PPV buys which Lewis got a very large cut of.

Vitali/Lewis II was offered to Lewis for 30 million. That's the fight everybody wanted to see. Vitali and Lewis with proper training camps and hopefully a clear winner would emerge. It's a shame Lewis tarnished his legacy by first ducking Vitali and then not giving him the rematch in a fight he was losing but won on a technicality, a freak cut that may have been caused by a headbutt. The referee calls the headbutt and Vitali wins a UD, but there would still not be a clear winner. 5 years later this is still the biggest fight that can be made at HW.

If Vitali retired Lewis then Rahman retired Vitali and they didn't even get to fight!

I could see the usual suspects all voting for Yes...Wow lewis was so scared he retired instead of facing the injury prone Vitali, I guess Vitali was so scared he retired 4 times rather than face the almighty HASIM RAHMAN.

Lewis wanted one more easy payday after he beat Tyson to end his career. He looked like **** against Vitali and that kept him from the rematch that Vitali honestly deserved, but I don't think he woulda fought again even if he won that fight.
