Junior, you forgot to mention his entire career is a joke. It's filled with nothing but handpicked fights. He's only taken one risky fight in his entire career and that's only because of the ridiculous amount of money he got...

In most instances a fighter gets paid more for fighting the hardest opposition than they do for fighting lesser opponents, so you could say that about most fighters.

Besides, if you think all Brit fighters are ****, isn't Lazcano a tougher fight than Witter?

I think that Ricky looks at Witter and sees alot of Mayweather there. A brash-talking speedster with a defensive style and pretty good pop. A guy who counterpunches well and has a great left hook. A guy who can match/exceed his speed.

He must not like that prospect.

I have to agree with you also. I am a Hatton fan but am a true boxing fan and not a soccer fan that likes to go watch Hatton and chant like Im watchin a football game like most of the fans (tho its still good fun and good for boxing as a whole).

I would like him to finish what he started and hope he doesn't do a Hamed. I respect him but We'll see if my respect holds up by what he does in the next year

Ricky is not being completely honest about the opportunity to fight on HBO. The folks at HBO offered him two dates: the undercard of Delahoya-Forbes, or the undercard of Mosley-Judah.

Clearly, in neither instance was he going to get a $5 million payday. But they would have been higher-profile than what he is doing.

HBO was actually doing Ricky a bit of a FAVOR. It isn't good for his US fanbase (?) to get KO'd, and then disappear for nine months. And with this Lazcano fight not being broadcast, that is exactly what is gonna happen.

Malignaggi is a Showtime fighter. How does a Hatton fight work out?

The Hatton/Lazcano fight is going to be aired live in America on Versus. Malinaggi has also fought on HBO and they already have an agreement in place for a fight at MSG or Vegas in the fall, on HBO.

Did you know fighters get paid much, much more by Versus than they do by ESPN?

Top Rank hadn't been delivering Versus very good quality fights, and so now they are looking elsewhere. Expect to see some bigger fights on Versus in the future.

The fact that HBO reject the Juan Laczano fight is the main reason Hatton had No option but to pitch the fight to Versus, he wanted this fight to be part of his 2-fight deal with HBO which they werent having because Lazcano is a Nobody.

Lazcano is a Nobody.

Laczano is actually a strong puncher and will be a fairly tough opponent.

He's a bigger risk to Hatton than the feather-fisted Forbes was to DLH.
