Thats it, Mayweather has fought the best from 126 up and has beaten pound for pound quality fighters and have looked more impressive while doing it. I am not knocking Calzaghe because he is indeed a great fighter and greatest super middleweight of all time, but he was very protected. He has only left the UK one time and Kessler even had more top 10 wins then he did.

    Who do you mean? Tunney?

He's faced and defeated two prime undefeated super middleweight world champions - Lacy and Kessler - and taken their titles from them. Mayweather refuses to face a prime, undefeated welterweight - Miguel Cotto.

When did Floyd beat the best at 126?

The thing is Calzaghe has a sure spot in the all time greats, he's the greatest SMW of all time, over 20 title defenses is pretty impressive as well.
I say he's more proved than Mayweather...

As I'm sure you know, I'm one of Joe's biggest fans, and I agree he has done amazing things, but i can't agree with you that he's proved more than Mayweather.

Mayweather has proved almost beyond reasonable doubt that he is the best boxer on earth. Joe can't say that.

I never said that, i said that Calzaghe would give peak Roy a lot of problems and anyone who says that Jones would beat him easily is in over their head. Now, Calzaghe would beat Jones and possibly stop him.

Genaro Hernandez was the best super featherweight at that time. I thought that 126 was super featherweight but its only feather, my mistake.

If Floyd weighed the same as JC Floyd would embarrass him , the ability gap between them is a mile wide , Joe is not the level of Mayweather , not even close , anybody that knows boxing should see that as plain as day .

If he had beaten Hopkins, Toney, Jones, Tarver, Winky when they were in their primes then maybe he would have been closer.

I think he could have done this, with the probable exception of Jones, but even then I'm not sure I'd regard him as up their with Mayweather.
Are you kidding? Come on man. A win over any of those guys in their prime means more than any fight that Mayweather has been in, except maybe Tarver because he's a journeyman that was just in the right place at the right time.

I mean honestly, he could barely beat a 43 year old Hopkins in what some consider to be 'zaghe's prime...and you think he could beat a prime Hopkins, a prime Toney and even hang with a prime Jones? You also think that even if he had beaten all of them in his prime he wouldn't be as good as Mayweather?

Comon'. Jones, Toney and Hopkins all have a much better legacy than Mayweather so far, and unless he does something big there's no way he's catching them. Jones will never be caught by either of them.

And who's fault was it if the fight was boring? At least Joe tried to make it a fight. Whether or not you like Joe or his style, he did a ****load more than his opponent and he did enough to win. He also predicted that it wouldn't be a pretty fight, it would be boring and ugly, as did many of us.
