        Calzaghe > Mayweather.

He's faced and defeated two prime undefeated super middleweight world champions - Lacy and Kessler - and taken their titles from them. Mayweather refuses to face a prime, undefeated welterweight - Miguel Cotto.

well they both fight in their hometowns with advantages and theyre both undefeated the difference is calzaghe unified a division fighting all comers
then went up and proved his value on a foreign country against an old legend
while mayweather handpicked opponents and collected titles in diferent weight classes never fighting the best in each weight class except maybe in lightweight
mayweather then did take a risk and fought and old legend with the odds against him proving his value
so in my point of view they are pretty much tied it depends really what they do now they both have around 5 fights left

You could argue that Mayweather's prime was at 130-135 where he KO'ed Corrales, the number 2 guy in the division, and then went up to 135 and beat a prime, potential HOFer in Jose Luis Castillo twice.

After that it gets foggy and is open to interpretation like a Pink Floyd album.

Actually, Corrales was the #1 guy in the division at the time, not #2. Ring Magazine had him at #5 pound for pound while Mayweather was ranked #7.

Lacy and Kessler would be lucky to make welterweight top 10 , thats the difference in the class of the division , Cal has been fighting tomato cans most of his career , but you guys claim anything you can right , whether they are old washed up unheard of or hyped dont matter at all , Cal is just wow right .

As much as I like Joe, he is neither as gifted a boxer as Floyd Mayweather, nor is his resume anywhere near as good.

If he had beaten Hopkins, Toney, Jones, Tarver, Winky when they were in their primes then maybe he would have been closer.

I think he could have done this, with the probable exception of Jones, but even then I'm not sure I'd regard him as up their with Mayweather.
