Racism, by its perhaps simplest definition, is discrimination based on race. One with racist beliefs might hate certain groups of people according to their race (i.e., bigotry), or in the case of institutional racism, certain racial groups may be denied rights or benefits. Racism inherently starts with the assumption that there are taxonomic differences between different groups of people. Without this assumption, prejudices against different peoples would be categorized as being prejudices related to national or regional origin, religion, occupation, social status or some other distinction

Americans thought Calzaghe was the joke of jokes before he beat Jeff Lacy and Mikkel Kessler

          Now they absolutely adore him

most of Calzaghe's best names on his record were on the slide before he fought them and the others are made up of average fighters or up and comers

Eubank lost to Steve Collins twice Pre Calzaghe been involved in many wars over the years

Woodhall lost his World Title to Marcus Beyer Pre Calzaghe ,subsequently retired after the Joe Calzaghe fight

Robin Ried lost his title to Thulani Malinga pre Calzaghe , lost to Silvio Branco staright after the Calzaghe fight

Brewer lost title to Marcus Beyer ,was beaten Twice by Beyer Pre Calzaghe

Byron Mitchell Lost his title pre Calzaghe to Sven Ottke

Lacy Overated Clearly looked absolute garbage against Peter Manfredo

Kessler great win against a young hungry up and comer

Hopkins 43 year old fighter that cannot sustain activity due to age
You can make a case like this for every single fighter out there.
It's easy to break down somebody's resume and make it look like trash.
If I wanted I can do the same about Popkins resume but I'm not going to do it because it's too easy and a waste of time.

You're reaching pretty damn hard when you have to bring up Byron Mitchell's "loss" to Sven Ottke to discredit Calzaghe. Damn boxrec pros.

Sven Ottke really shouldn't be talked about in serious boxing circles.

He was a political gimmick to give East Germans a hero.

I never said I root for fighters because of race.

My favorites include many Mexican fighters, such are Antonio Margarito, JM Marquez, as well as Mexican-Americans such as Robert Guererro and other Hispanics boxers such as Roberto Duran. I support several black fighters such as Shane Mosley and Travis Walker.

In a million years, we would never read a positive comment about a white fighter from Terrible, just the same nasty hatred, day after day in NSB.

thanks for copying and pasting that

it goes like this Boxing is Entertainment and to root for a guy because he is the same colour as u is racist

if 2 guys were fighting & the white guy was absolute garabage & the black fella looked absolute class ,but u still decided to root for the white guy based on the fact u are white ,then that IMO is plain wrong and it proves u are racist ,Boxing is about which fighter entertains u and nothing else

to even distinguish the colour of which guy u are rooting for based on the fact u are the same colour is racist in its self
