Can u be great without a great Resume ,Calzaghe Misleading resume

Can u be great without a great names on your Resume ,Calzaghe Misleading resume , allthough Calzaghe is undisputed Champ at LHW & SMW & still unbeaten the intangibles to his career are quite different IMO

most of Calzaghe's best names on his record were on the slide before he fought them and the others are made up of average fighters or up and comers

Eubank lost to Steve Collins twice Pre Calzaghe been involved in many wars over the years

Woodhall lost his World Title to Marcus Beyer Pre Calzaghe ,subsequently retired after the Joe Calzaghe fight

Robin Ried lost his title to Thulani Malinga pre Calzaghe , lost to Silvio Branco staright after the Calzaghe fight

Brewer lost title to Marcus Beyer ,was beaten Twice by Beyer Pre Calzaghe

Byron Mitchell Lost his title pre Calzaghe to Sven Ottke

Lacy Overated Clearly looked absolute garbage against Peter Manfredo

Kessler great win against a young hungry up and comer

Hopkins 43 year old fighter that cannot sustain activity due to age

Hopkins has only ever beaten one top fighter his own size, and he's considered great.

Every name in everyones resume has a catch to it. Lennox Lewis beating shot Tyson for example.. Miguel Cotto beating old Mosley another..

It's just the way boxing is.

As Kayjay rightfully posted, Hopkins eating Oscar and Trinidad can be picked up on too, him fighting a weight drained Tarver is another.

Shane Mosley has a lot more left than Tyson or Hopkins did or do ,also Lewis does not only have Mike Tysons name on his reume to prove his greatness where as Calzaghe only has Hopkins to prove his

Can I just say "If everything in life is bold, then nothing is bold".

If there was all great boxers, then they'll be no great boxers as it;s relative to what?

My logic being that if a fighter is beaten it can destroy careers.

For instance what if Jeff Lacy beat Calzaghe, and Lacy then followed to have a terrific career as forseen before losing to Calzaghe, and Calzaghe's career was in tatters and he never really faught anyone again. People would look back on Lacy's career and say, well he's not beaten anybody decent. Losing fights does destroy careers, it's always been the case in boxing. Whoever they beat, on every boxers resume there's always doubters.

Roy Jones beat a "weight drained" James Toney, I honestly don't buy into all of that but everyone is a critict. The only fighter today where no excuses will work is if Mayweathers beats a Prime Cotto.

Cotto is now proven and clearly one of the best in the division, I don't know why Mayweather doesn't take this fight...
