I do agree though a few posters were added who I havent even seen make any threads about Calzaghe but most of that list is correct

A hater will say he could never defeat Roy Jones, even though Jones has several losses, while Joe is undefeated. I say he may have defeated prime Jones.

Of course you say Calzaghe didn't fight the best opposition. Jones resume has far more taxi drivers, security guards and clubfighters than Joe's, but you never notice that for some reason!

Someone who is not biased can clearly see Joe defeated Hopkins. Mind you, it wasn't Joe's best fight, and he won mainly because Hopkins didn't do much.

I'm sure I've said RJJ JC would have been a competitive fight in the past (but then Roy intimated Joe could have taken him to within a couple of rounds... which would have given a hometown ref enough rope to push a decision the other way).

Saying that, I have never suggested he could beat Wlad, although that Barney Rubble character??? Who knows??

I have never really jumped all over his critic's arses unless they come out with some KO in 2 **** or are just down right trolling, as I would do for any fighter I respect.

Well John Ruiz was one of them

John Ruiz is one of the most underrated fighters ever. Yes he got beat by two blown up Middleweights, yes he is about 7 years past his prime, yes he has mediocre skills, is pretty slow, has lousy footwork, so-so power and wins his fights by giving his opponent lovable hugs...

but at the end of the day, he is still a major player in the division, and has been for years. Chagaev only barely beat him, that was quite a close fight, and Chagaev is pretty much universally recongnized as the #2 heavyweight in the world. imo Ruiz beat Valuev but didnt get the decision, who at this point is probebly number 5 or 6 in the list heavyweights. He also basically shut out McCline, even though McCline was able to drop and beat up Sam Peter.

I mean, if you think about it, there are only a few people in the division today that could beat him. Do yall really think its impossible that Ruiz could beat slow, plodding guys like Virchis and Sam Peter? Hell, I think a lot of people would favor Ruiz in those fights. even Chagaev has been looking lousy lately, if Ruiz came into the fight and started hugging right off the bat instead of trying to fight a little bit like he did in their first fight...he would have a good chance.
