Jones Jr.(94-2000) vs. Calzaghe...

So you think this thread is about a prime Jones vs today's 36 year old Calzaghe?Comment

Calzaghe was quite a way past his prime when he fought Lacy. He was probably prime in the Veit, Mitchell and Brewer era, 3 fights I seriously doubt you have seen, yet you still make claims such as "Prime Roy embarrasses prime Joe"Comment

Nobody looks good against Hopkins, and I do believe a "past his prime" Joe landed more shots on Hopkins than a prime Roy? Yes Hopkins was past it when he fought Joe, but his defence wasn't as cute when he fought Roy, so it all evens itself out in the end.
Prime for prime, it's 50-50.Comment

The Hopkins fight, where they were both green is pretty meaningless, no he was not prime.
The Toney fight, where James was extremely weight drained, doesn't mean much either.
And yes, I think Jones has been on steroids his entire career.Comment

I have seen the Veit(I and II) and Mitchell fights, and I dont think he was nearly as good in those fights as he was in the Lacy and/or Kessler fights. never had the chance to get to see the Brewer fight.Comment

Calzaghe spent his "prime" fighting tomato cans. I don't buy the excuse that Calzaghe was "in his prime years ago" because he has never fought anyone good until 2006 and on. He looks good now (not so much his last fight), so now is his prime. What's next? Telling me Naz wasn't in his prime against Barrera? When will Brits wake up and realize you are in your prime when you fight the best? Was Hatton not in his prime against Mayweather? If all these guys weren't in their prime against the top tier competition, then why do you support them for being cowards until they were old men?Comment

"landed more shots"...but what KIND of shots?? Calzaghe's slappy/windmill punches had little effect on Hop.Nobody looks good against Hopkins, and I do believe a "past his prime" Joe landed more shots on Hopkins than a prime Roy? Collazo landed 213 punches on Hatton. Mayweather landed 129.Comment

Point scoring and, ultimately, fight winning shots. Cry more please.Comment
