Reason this thread sucks:
Even if Cotto could beat everybody Floyd has beaten(obviously ignoring the ridiculous size/weight advantage over most of FLoyd's pre-WW days)... what does that prove?
It's a discussion that serves no purpose and will only result in a bunch of people arguing moot points.

bottom line (at least to me) is that mayweather beat some good opponents eapecially in those smaller weight classes, but nothing that cotto couldnt handle. and thats not even comparing cotto's welterweight record to mayweathers' because frankly it stands no comparisson. it's ironic how cotto moved from junior weterweight ands beat some solid fighter to become a legit champ at 147. did maywether? facing gattis, baldomirs(the kind of fighter that's not in his league skill-wise) ricky hatton??? the answer is no mayweather's accomplishments at welterweight do not eclipse those of cotto's. i dont care what floyd did at featherweight, or lightweight, point is he's a welterweight, and he hasnt done anything impressiveLast edited by Boogie Nights; 04-29-2008, 06:50 PM.

I made a post earlier in this thread saying that they both can probably beat everyone on both resumes.
Cotto would have the most problems with De La Hoya.
Mayweather would have the most problems with Mosley.
Remember, the jab = poison to Mosley. Mayweather has a good one if he decides to use it.

You gotta apply that standard to when Mayweather Fought those Fighters...
Mayweather at 24 beat A Prime, Undisputed, Best Body Puncher in boxing @ 135 in Jose Luis Castillo (Twice)
Mayweather at 23 beat a Undefeated, Prime #5 P4P fighter Diego Corrales
Mayweather at 21 beat Genaro Hernandez
Mayweather at 23 beat A Prime #4 ranked in the division Jesus Chavez
Mayweather has been through 5 divisions fighting Champions
and Won 6 World Championships....
Mayweather beat The Champions
Mayweather didn't fight for the Vacant Belt....
Cotto does not beat Jesus Chavez.Diego Corrales.Jose Luis Castillo (Twice),Genero Hernandez all before the age of 25 Like Mayweather did...
NOW NAME SOMEBODY ON COTTO RESUMES FLOYD DOES NOT BEAT...!
