Floyd came in same weight as Hatton 152 ,,,, thats says they fought at Jnr Welter as far as Hatton is concerned ,,, he weighed in at 145 , yep and he just dried out less same deal

If you still think they were welters , what weight does Cotto Margo Citron Williams come in on fight night , 160+

Floyd and Hatton were jnr welters fighting for a welter belt , no real welter steps into the ring at 148-152 , Hatton claiming weight issues against Floyd is a crock of horse ****
Even though Floyd is a small welterweight, I still think coming in at 147 the day before for each would make a difference from coming in at 140.

Hatton is going to be blown up moreso than he was when he fought at 140.

Look at Winky Wright when he fought Hopkins at 170... even if he was fighting someone who comes to the ring at 170 regularly, Winky still would have looked quite sluggish. The same could be true of Hatton.

Not so the difference in this is only drying out and how much , people are trying to add the 7lbs to Hatton as luggage in the Mayweather fight , the key is the weight they step into the ring at , Hatton didnt weigh 147 the day before he was 145 , he could have made 140 that day easy as it its only drying out and 5 lbs is nothing and he does it all the time Floyd is the same he doesnt dry out to make welter thats all , the key is Hattons fight weight never changed by more than a pound from Castillo to Floyd , Floyd we know was 149 with Oscar ,,,,, I just get really annoyed when people throw the Hatton is not a welter concerning the Floyd fight , because in this fight that dont apply , not like Collazo where Hatton tried to be a true welter and weighed 7lbs heavier on fight night and if you look at the bodys on Rick vs Floyd and Rick vs Luis you can see it a mile away ,, Hatton was without a doubt the best condition he has ever been in with Floyd .

      Ray Hatton
" "The plan is for Ricky to weigh in at 10st 3lb [four pounds inside the welterweight limit] against Mayweather because that's the weight he's best at," he says. "Collazo was a big man and we wanted to match him but we bulked up too much. Ricky came in too heavy and he lost his speed and reactions. We won't make that mistake again." "

      Ricky Hatton
" About fighting at 147, and not 140, Hatton said: “I’m not overly concerned about it. I’ve eyed Floyd up physically when we’ve stood next to each other and, like I say, he’s not a massive welterweight. I’ll probably get in the ring heavier than him.”

The night of the fight, Mayweather won’t exceed the 150 lbs., while Hatton has said that he will probably be 154: “Also, for Mayweather, I’ll get in the ring at the weight I fight best at, around 11 stone”. That is 154 lbs. Hatton’s extra weight in the Collazo fight –more than six unnecessary pounds– gave him strength, were useful in the clinches, but affected his speed, his reflexes and athleticism. "

Dirt E. Gomez is by far one of the most entertaining posters on this forum.

                Pick an easier battle.

That's what you'd like to think. I can see someone make a case for Oscar, but Hatton is not on Cotto's level.

he doesnt like my thread well let him keep that **** to himself, otherwise im gonna retaliate. this was a solid thread which got over 2000 views and 100 plus responses. apparently the majority of people who were posting here didnt think that it ****** a "big fat ****". he made no contribution here or to boxing what so ever (at least i havent seen) and comes on to bad mouth. these are the kind of posters that have problems..........

There is a case for it at 140.

Starched Cotto who couldn't take a punch to save his life, who also wasn't nearly as effective at boxing as he is now... effective Hatton who beat Tszyu.

the 147 Cotto would **** any version of Hatton to death.
