Margarito refused to wear the 10's? Yeah, good one Arum.. Margarito would wear live chickens on the ends of his fists for this fight if that's what was required. This has everything to do with Cotto and his lack of actual punching power. I'm surprised Arum hasn't gotten the rules switched so Cotto could wear MMA gloves in the past..

ARUM really wants it to be there too because he believes PPV will do better because more west coast media can attend and some other bull****.

What angers me most, is that all the hype for the fight was done in NY, like the Cotto-Mosley and Margarito-Johnson card nearly sold out MSG. Then in AC they did good numbers with Cotto-Gomez and Margarito-Cintron.

And after i paid good money to support both fights, the real fight, the one we all wanted most, gets thrown the las vegas. thats just wrong

Vegas is too far from Mig's Puerto Rican fanbase. cotto hasn't sold alot of PPV's, so they rely on the gate. that is why he fights on PR Day in NYC.

so basically I've learned two things from this thread that Cotto fans have told me otherwise.

1. Cotto is 100% reliant on his power to win fights by demanding these 8oz gloves

2. Cotto is no superstar if he can't attract an audience on the west coast


so why again does Mayweather HAVE to fight this guy?
