I think Roy can definetly win. Joe leaves himself open to the right hand, which is what Roy likes to do. If he keeps his workrate up and throws combinations, (that we know he can throw) he can put a good impression on the judges. Because Jones combo's are as eye appealing as they come.

I think the main problem for Roy would be the shell defense. He must stay off the ropes. Because even if Joe is not connecting flurries and activity puts rounds in the bank. It's basically a numbers game when fighting Joe.

I'm happy that people are picking Jones to win, same with the Hopkins fight. It just makes Joe look better if he wins.

If you're picking Roy to win though, please be objective like reed is and don't say random biased ****. I respect Roy as I did with Bernard but I didn't and still don't believe any of them have enough left to beat Joe. I know the whole work rate issue has been done to death but that is actually one of Joe's best wepons (if you can call it that) I can just see Joe outworking Jones with a UD.

I think Joe honestly edged it out... it looked like bernard was winging slow punches near the end... bernard just wasnt doin to much at the end.

Calzaghe isn't a conventional southpaw; oft times he stands in front of his opponent squared up. But his straight left is a still a powerful weapon - despite what you guys say about his so-called lack of power (Roy Jones certainly doesn't agree with you), he can hurt Roy with it.

You have to give the edge to the younger, fresher Calzaghe at this point. However, I disagree with those who believe Jones' best chance is in the center of the ring. his legs do not allow him to move the way he did in the past. In the middle of the ring he'll potshot and throw lead rights.

Furthermore, it'll be Calzaghe coming forward. Hence, I suspect much of the bout will be fought with Jones' back to the ropes. And, contrary to popular opinion, I believe that's where Roy would prefer the fight to be. See the Hanshaw bout for reference.

Would still be a great fight - Calzaghe has the edge though.

To be perfectly truthful, I don't think it was even that close. Hopkins was throwing barely over half the punches Calzaghe was, and landing at a lower percentage. Yep, he did connect with several nice right hands, but he just couldn't keep up with the pace, and after the first few rounds, Calzaghe started slipping most of the right hands he threw, though that 1st round KD was a very pretty shot, and I wish I'd seen MANY more like it. Hopkins antics later on, deliberately delaying the fight to recover from the pace, really pissed me off. I had Hopkins winning 4 rounds (some rounds were somewhat close, but Hopkins lack of output forced me to give them to Calzaghe), Calzaghe 8, in a fairly comfortable decision after a very ugly fight. No need for even considering a rematch. You can't win a fight by tossing the occaisional right hand and then grabbing on. Hopkins should've retired after his win over Oscar.
