Cotto has a solid fan base, and a win over floyd would make him world known.
Don't underestimate how popular he is, there was a documentary about him here in the UK a couple of years ago on prime time sky sports, and all his fights are shown here. Some of my friends who only casually watch boxing know who he is.

Floyd OWES Cotto the fight being that he ducked Margarito.
But either way - once Cotto smashes Tony there will be no place for him to hide.

Each man is responsible for his own career.Cotto is happy with his progress if he wasnt he would have changed his management.Noone owes anyone anything here,at the end of the day maximise gains in the short time of your career and thats what Floyd does.
Floyd knows anything can happen at anytime and while he can,he will make the most money.

I see the Mayweather fans are eating Floyd's bull**** right up. Fact of the matter is, Floyd isn't nearly the draw he claims to be, nor is Cotto as small time as he's trying to lead you to believe. Prior to facing De La Hoya, Floyd had never cracked 400k PPV buys, and his fight with Baldomir had less than 10K in attendance in a city where Mayweather resides, which was even less than the attendance for Cotto-Gomez. Of course the ratings for Cotto-Gomez weren't up to par; there was a dueling card on Showtime the same night. I know many people who tuned into the Showtime card live and caught the HBO card on replay because they felt the outcomes on HBO were forgone conclusions. But anyway, it's not a coincidence Mayweather did big number with De La Hoya and Hatton, those are without a doubt the two biggest draws in the sport. If he's such an attraction, he wouldn't worry about another fighters drawing power. Because if it he's the ticket seller, and the other guy supposedly isn't, then Floyd would be able to demand a larger portion of the pie. But I honestly believe, he's sitting back hoping for Cotto to lose, so he can dismiss him as being unworthy, even though it wouldn't be the first time he fought a fighter coming off a loss. He'll hope to use that as crutch to justify pointless rematches with De La Hoya and Hatton.

So after Cotto beats Margarito, who do people expect him to fight next?
Names like Clottely, Mayorga, Quintana, and even a rematch with Shane Mosley have been brought up. But realistically, are either one of those fights going to make him that much better than he already is? He would've beaten 3 former WW champs (Mosley, Quintana, Margarito) by then. What more do they want??

There are many options for him.If his team is good they will land him fights

I say let the anticipation build...this is just all pre-pre hype build up for both men to fight in late 2009. Let Cotto continue to dominate 147 and let Floyd take care of his rematches. The more both camps talk about each other, the more we talk, and the more the public demands for a much anticipated legendary night.
