So what are your thoughts on Joe at 175...

can he compete with Tarver, and Dawson? Is the weight to much for him? Is the weight a non issue? should he stay at 68? discuss.

It's hard to tell when he fought a guy like B-Hop. If he fought a boxer like Dawson it would of been far more pleasing on the eye.

I think he controls both of the divisions though.

He's probably got the best hand speed advantage and best work rate in the division but his power will remain ineffective I believe and most if not all of his victories in that division will be UD's.

He ain't incredibly strong as a light heavy, but Joe could beat any of the other title holders at 175. He's been at SMW so long movin up seemed natural since he said he was strugglin to make the weight. There's nothin else for him to do at 168 unless he could get the Pavlik fight. I'd pick him to win that fight but he'd be riskin some serious trouble sweatin himself down to take on a young puncher like Kelly. He should stay at 175.

He looked like he wanted to keep his options at supermiddle by not gaining any muscle. For me he looked like 170 plus a few pounds fat. He was slower and his chin at 175 is just good not granite anymore.

I dont think his chin changed... he will just have bigger guys punching it now.

I think his chin is still granite, there was nothing in that fight to prove it wasn't.

The Knockdown was more of an off balance situation although there's no doubting it was a good punch.

I don't like Hopkins but that counterpunch was a thing of beauty. Not to many times I've seen Calzaghe made to look silly, even for a split second.
