If Hopkins's face compared to Calzaghe's was an indication that he won, then....

I'd say most of that was due to Hopkins being 43 years old.

it should be about quality, not quanity for me...i thought it coulda gone either way, more offen then not, its gon go to tha more active fighter as we seen wit this fight, mararito williams, taylor pavlik II...one thing tho, if u say zaghe landed double b-hops output, iont kno how u go from 2-3 effective(b-hop) to 15-19 ineffective(zaghe) lmfao shouldnt it be 2-3 to 4-6?...an yes, imo id say sd but to hopkins.

That being said some judges seem to not notice body punches, and those are the ones that shouldn't be working.
I see your point, but let me suggest that you use either underline or a different color font.

Compubox and facial damage are both worthless ways to score a fight.

That's getting a bit old, no pun intended. I'll say it again, Hops best weapons and chances against Joe were his super defence, ring intelligence, and counter punching. They made it a close fight with Joe as they didn't suite him.

Even 3+ years ago Hops didn't have those attributes zoned so well, so Joe beats him easier.

Good point. Some fighters bruise and cut easier than others due to facial structure and whatnot. Someone with very pronounced cheek bones will probably cut easier...

You didn't think the Glen Johnson video ("so clean and handsome") was funny?

Yeah, Hatton's prominent brow comes to mind.

Your views may not be popular but I agree, it took every trick in the book to keep Joe away and it still wasn't enough. All this **** about a prime hopkins doesn't wash with me, that style was his best chance and has taken years to develop. Coming forward against a Calzaghe with unbroken hands earlier in his career he would have his arse kicked.

Ditto all this **** about Joe being beaten up, I saw him being interviewed on a 42" screen and the only real blemish was that nick on his nose. Better quality work from Bernard?? what 9 punches a round landed or something like that absolute bollocks

If the state of a fighter's face dictates the winner and the loser then Bernard "Lumpy" Hopkins lost all of his fights.
