That's true in most cases. In Floyd Mayweather's case he plays the antagonist role well and that's why some people oppose him

Floyd wins by UD. Floyd was at his best at 130. This is the weight where he had 80% of his big wins. Manfredy, Corrales,Hernandez,Chavez all went down to Floyd, Morales would be game but outboxed and lose 116-112.

Incidentally, it is at 130 where I have nothing but outmost respect for Floyd. He was was a beast in this weight, he actually went out and tried to punish guys and stood toe to toe with guys.
