Respect The Legends...(Joe Calzaghe)

I can understand Calzaghe and Hopkins trading insults before the fight to hype it up. Thats ok. But Hopkins is a legend and his career is over now, why does Calzaghe have to continue to talk **** about him. This is exactly why I don't like Joe Calzaghe....

WBC/WBA/WBO super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe admitted to the London Daily Mail that he intentionally hit Bernard Hopkins low in the second round of their fight Saturday, but says Hopkins was faking it in the tenth when he went to the canvas from an apparent light shot below the belt from the Welshman. "What a crap actor," said Calzaghe. "He looked like he'd been shot in the balls, not hit. When I hit him there in the second round, that was proper deliberate. He'd knocked me down in the first so I had to give him a dig, didn't I? But the tenth — that was a lie, that one.....he's a cheat. He took three minutes off when I didn't touch him and he needed a rest. Joe Cortez should have been firmer. Hopkins is just a spoilt little girl, isn't he?"
Calzaghe also told the Mail, "I felt all along [Hopkins] was all mouth. He was a bully and they don't like being bullied. I could tell at the weigh-in he was worried. I said to him, 'This is your last fight, this is the end for you now' and he didn't say anything at all."

If it wasn't for Hopkins, Calzaghe wouldn't have the great win on his record that he has now. The trash talk should stop after the fight, especially in the case of an old great who is leaving the sport. Its nothing against Calzaghe's fans, its against him.

Dont talk so much BS, Hopkins hasn't stopped bitching since the bell wrang to end the fight.

Calzaghe owe's him nothing, he would not have made 10m+ against anyone but Joe. He cant even sell a ticket, a premier fighter in his own country and he aint even PPV.

Hopkins owe's Calzaghe, he called Joe out because he knew he needed him to get the $$$$.

The bottomline is when an old great fighter is retiring, you don't **** all over him. Thats how I feel. I don't like Calzaghe but when he retires you won't hear me being disrespectful towards him, why? Hes a great fighter, and he deserves respect for the time he has put into this sport.
