You can't put Calzaghe in the same class as a prime Roy Jones Jr.

Roy Jones Jr, James Toney, and Bernard Hopkins were leaps and bounds greater than Joe Calzaghe. Joe has no power therefor he would never beat those three, i mean i guess it would be possible for him to steal a decision based on workrate alone but if judging effective punches he doesnt win 2 rounds against any of those three.

Prime Joe had a huge punch, much bigger than Hopkins.

Besides Joe's career at this point is miles better than Hopkins's. Nard lost all his meaningful fights against big guys except to Tarver

Roy Jones Jr, Floyd Mayweather Jr. Let's try that again, you GROSSELY overrate Calzaghe to the point where I (a ****ing fan of his) has to bring you down to earth. Cal is one of the best of this era, top 2.........................HELL NO

get real, Joe never even fought top guys. Bernard beat him up Saturday at 43, had Joes dad telling his son he needed a knockout to win, and now hes "miles better than Hopkins" because he won a controversial decsion?? did he have a few more fights this week that i missed or what?

That didn't mean anything. Joe knew he had the decision

Roy Jones was losing more than 2 rounds against both Griffin and Harding who aren't exceptional punchers or boxers for that matter.

Toney lost to Griffin and Drake Thadzi, and was given the biggest gift decision against Dave Tibery. Against Tibery James got beat on like a dog.

Bernard Hopkins has fought mostly bums and blown up welterweights throught his reign as a middleweight champ. He lost to Taylor twice.

I hope you do realize now that JoeC could've definately wom more than 2 round against the aforemention fighters.

I have to agree with KJ on this one. Joe knew he had the win personally I felt it was more of a motivational thing to keep Joe focused and not lackadaisical.

Here's the last segment of Calzaghe's destruction of Jeff Lacy who was an undefeated champion in his own right at the time:

That whole fight was a one man demolition. Add Kessler and Hopkins into the equation and Calzaghe presents a very masterful fighter who is 45-0, 32 KOs.

Roids Jones, Jr. would have had major problems dealing with Calzaghe's ambidextrous hand speed. Until the Lacy fight I would never have believed it. But, now it is clear to me that Calzaghe was always the best. I now understand why Jones went to lengths to avoid fighting Joe.

Calzaghe is a great fighter. He is just as great as RJJ was...perhaps even better.
